Great guy but dreadful player,

Not having that. In our title wining season he was fantastic, one of th best RBs in the league.

Vey sad to see him go, we should be trying to attract the best English talent. Also at a time when English players are proving they are good enough, especially with liverpool who's team is built around English players, same with everton. Even united are trying to buy the best talent. I think we as a club need that core of English players
I said in my post that he was awesome in the the title winning season but his injuries have defiantly caught up with him.

Fair enough, just think without the injuries and regular football he would be class again. Just sad to see him going tbh

I'll eat my hat if Luke Shaw isn't a Chelsea player next season should he leave Southampton. Absolutely nailed on if you ask me. Ashley Cole out, Luke Shaw in.

United are in the position of offering him an immediate first choice spot with Evra leaving, unlike Chelsea (Azpilicueta has been a revelation and Mourinho recently bigged him up publicly) and maybe City (hard to tell whether he'd oust whoever of Kolarov/Clichy stays). Add that to the fact United are going spend crazy this summer on fees AND wages, and they have a good chance of signing him.
Why would the rags spend like crazy when they've got all those brilliant young players coming through the academy ?
Haven't you heard - that's not the utd way?

It will be sad to see him go but we have improved so much I don't think even a fit Micah would be good enough anymore, not got the football brain IMO.
He was good enough in our title winning season. Still, he probably won't be given the time to regain that form. Add to that his horrible injury record and I'm afraid he should probably go. I'll miss him, if there is one dead-weight player I wouldn't mind carrying it's him.

He was but as I said we have improved since then, no looking back now.

Says he may look for a new club in the summer if he is not guaranteed playing time. City want him to stay on.

I think if he was to go it would be a massive blow for us. Not simply because we will be losing a player but we'll be losing our Academy poster boy. This wouldn't send out the right message to other youngsters.

Don't agree while it would be sad to see him go it sends out the message to young players they need to be the very best they can on and off the pitch to have any chance of making it here.
While some of the injuries may not be his fault I think some are caused by his training and bulking up too much 3 or 4 years ago and his positional play has never improved.

Right i'm gonna pull you up on this quite frankly bullshit "bulking up" quote you just made. It annoys the piss out of me when people who know next to nothing about strength and conditioning say shit like this. If you think his "bulking up" made him more liable to injury i want to hear a detailed, rationale for how this, as a sole factor, can cause a loss of performance. Also which part of his training has he been doing wrong? maybe he should consult you seeing as you clearly know he's been so counter intuitive with it.

I think Micah started going downhill when he started bulking up

He has the physique of a boxer now not a football player

Omg not another one of the "he's too bulky" parade. And how can you explain, justify this theory?
Ye so what he's got the physique of a boxer!? Can you not see how transferable the fitness of the two sports correlates. Boxers have disgustingly good speed, strength and CV endurance. They're also agile as fuck, lightning fast, have great power and strength? They're conditioned to have the shit kicked out of them and take physical contact? Oh ye, that's pretty much the type of fitness footballers should have. His size is fine, he's got a great engine on him, and runs like a beast. So how the hell you think his "size" injures him i don't have a clue! If it looked like as a result of his extra mass, he'd become less mobile, slower and somehow had lower endurance capacity, i would agree with you but that isn't the case.

It baffles me too when people claim Micah is too bulky. Have you ever thought that its his natural physique? Some are born like they've been hung on a coat peg (Le Tissier). Some are born like Mr Blobby (Jamie Pollock). And some are born like boxers (Ade Akinbiyi).

It's mostly genes that determine a players physique...... Apart from the likes of Neil Ruddock, Julian Dicks & Gazza whereby chips, steak & kidney pie with mushy peas, gravy and half a loaf of Hovis Bread washed down with a Keg of Boddingtons might be more than a mitigating factor........
