I think Micah started going downhill when he started bulking up

He has the physique of a boxer now not a football player

Omg not another one of the "he's too bulky" parade. And how can you explain, justify this theory?
Ye so what he's got the physique of a boxer!? Can you not see how transferable the fitness of the two sports correlates. Boxers have disgustingly good speed, strength and CV endurance. They're also agile as fuck, lightning fast, have great power and strength? They're conditioned to have the shit kicked out of them and take physical contact? Oh ye, that's pretty much the type of fitness footballers should have. His size is fine, he's got a great engine on him, and runs like a beast. So how the hell you think his "size" injures him i don't have a clue! If it looked like as a result of his extra mass, he'd become less mobile, slower and somehow had lower endurance capacity, i would agree with you but that isn't the case.

Mad fer it - its nice to hear someone sticking up for Micah , he gets absolutely slaughtered on this thread by lots of our fans - if the fitness guys at the club thought he was too bulky surely they would put this right, after all they are the experts.

What gets me though is all these who suggest he is too big, never ever suggest the fitness guys at the club customise a fitness regime for him.

Lets hope none of our more popular players get injury problems- i wonder wether they would face the same criticism that Micah gets on here .- somehow i dont think so.

Re: Micah Richards

Pete, this isn't personal,Micah simply isn't up to the job anymore.

If Zabaleta wasn't bordering on bionic then, imo,we certainly wouldn't be challenging for the league and probably would not have won a Cup,that situation needs addressing as next season we may not be as lucky in that department.

Would you replace your car if it was essential for work and yet was never out of the garage?

Looks more and more like it's going to happen unfortunately. I think if we play it right we can get at 10 million or maybe more for him - he's still young and has plenty to offer.

Not sure where this is going to leave us in terms of home grown players. I'd like to see a Brit take his spot. Anyone reckon Seamus Coleman is worth a shout?

Re: Micah Richards

Love micah but it seems Pellers is the 4th/5th manager now (including England mgrs) who dont deem him quite good enough and it seems to be down to the lack of his tactical nowse/footballing brain (whatever you want to call it...).

Id like to see him get a good run in the team when fully fit as he can a monster going forward but will always be understudy to zabba.

Hes premiership quality so if someone is willing to put double figure millions on the table then we should use it to upgrade our defense and hed always get a heros reception back at city.

Hes a great servant of the club...

Re: Micah Richards

We won't get £10 million for a guy on those kind of wages and who hasn't really kicked a ball in anger for 2 seasons. All things considered, he's also got frailties even when he's fit.

Be lucky to get nearer £5 million and removed £80K per week off the wage bill.

I don't think anyone will be rejoicing at his departure but it sounds like he wants it that way anyway and we need to get somebody in to cover for Zabs.

We can't have Micah as cover again as he isn't reliable. Even if he stays, which seems highly unlikely, we'd have to get another right-back in anyway in case he breaks down again.

I dont think there's much question about his ability in the right match. He's just not VFM. We've had the best part of 2 seasons with only 1 RB getting battered all over the place. As someone said we are VERY lucky Zaba is bionic. We'll get about 5M now.

Would cost a fortune and wouldn't move to play second-fiddle to Zabaleta. We should've held on to Trippier.

He was 3rd maybe 4th choice when he left no one was going to stand in his way. Glad he has done well for himself but he probably needed that drop down a level to find himself as a footballer

This.

It gets brought up again every now and again that letting him go was a huge mistake, as if he would have become the player he is sat in our reserves. The mistake was not sticking a buy back clause in (assuming we didn't).
