Micah Richards Return..

Whats Zab better at?.....is some fucka avin a laff, Micah the much improved fullback cant perform an emergency stop without face-planting the floor....funny how folk never mention this when he continually falls for it having to literally drag the winger with him.

Richards attacking sems to have improved no end but so's Zabs and Zab never seems to run the ball off the end of the pitch whilst not being challenged like 25% of MR's forward runs do, which could make an observer ponder if his successfullforays were more luck than good judgment. Either way...Zab certainly dont give the ball away cheap and i've never heard anyone show concern when Zab collects mid passing pattern. Did i mention Zab may be better at getting on with play when a wrong throw's been called against him....i think the powers that be (paid professionals) really rate that traite in a fullback, you start ragamuffinin folk about a throw that was;nt enough times and you'll end up at the Olympics....getting injured .

As much as I love Zabaleta and think he's an absolute workhorse and opitimises our team spirit - the power that Richards gives down the right-hand side could add another dimension to the our play that I personally feel Zaba doesn't give us fully at the moment.

I'd be right in saying most of us blues all love Zabaleta but in terms of an attacking threat down the wings I'd have to say the introduction of Micah would really give us some extra fire-power and another outlet down the flanks which I feel is currently lacking!

Does anybody know when Micah will be back and fully fit?

he's still on one crutch so a least 6 weeks then 4 weeks at least training back up to full fitness. I'd be surprised if he's ready before March.

If this is true, so much for Bobs assessment.

Funny how a spell out of the team makes you a better player. Nasri was missed v Sunderland yet prior to the Newcastle game he was shite apparently.
Micah gives more of a threat down the wing but is nowhere near as good a defender as Zaba.
At the moment we are lacking goals from our frontmen not our fullbacks. I do think however Micah fit will give us a great option from the bench. Zaba to keep it tight 1st half then Micah or Maicon to come on to give more attacking width if we are struggling with Plan A as we have been.

anyone know what Micahs like at left fullback?

Pretty sure he has played there on a few occasions. Not ideal mind.

-- Sat Dec 29, 2012 12:22 am --

I hope to be proved wrong but I don't think Micah will be the same player when he gets back from injury. He will be 25 by the end of the season, and if he does get a consistent run in the team then he has done well.

I think when Richards comes back we should play him as just a winger, it would be interesting cause I remember in first half of last season he was so powerful going down the right and usually got a cross into the box. We could still play Zab at right back and thus have plenty of defensive cover. Unfortunately, it seems like Richards won't be back until late January and the earliest.
