Micah Richards the pundit

Some people are waaaaaaay too touchy. Micah is a city legend and a really nice guy. He does defend city and he does know his football. Yes he's loud, yes he's seen as a joker, but for city fans to shit all over one of our own ex players for no deep rooted reason is really damning to some of our fanbase. Focus your hatred on the likes of Carragher, Neville and the TV executives who push the red shirt propaganda.

Can't take to him as a pundit but nothing to suggest he is anything but a nice bloke, gave his all for us.

Should he be relived of his ambassadorial duties?
Not in the slightest. He will always be one of our's and all we've shared together remains the same. He gave his all for us and the team, he was a key part of that side that first saw the light. He loves us and we love him.

He's not a creme de la creme commentator. He can do the job, he'll turn up, have some banter with Roy Keane, his beloved "Titi", Rio Ferdinand or whoever he's sitting opposite, and then say what he sees of a game with a comparatively limited understanding. He's not an Onouha type who has this really deep knowledge and will talk you through twenty variations on the same passage of play, but most commentators aren't either. It does annoy me that he let's everyone walk over him a bit, maybe he needs to grow into the role and have that confidence to tell em to do one every so often.

But he's not done anything worth tainting our relationship between him and the club. He's a blue, he's a decent lad, he's a kn0b who spends Cumbria's annual GDP on action man figurine haircuts, he's just Micah bless him.

He's also humiliated himself and belittled the club by wearing a ManU and Arsenal top

He’s as much a legend for us as Ralph Milne is for the red shite.
He win an FA Cup and League title. Was instrumental in the 6-1. Not sure that's an entirely accurate (or genuine!) comparison.

Was an excellent RB for us 2008-2012. I can understand why his presentational style might not be to everyone's taste. But he's clearly a blue (he's allowed to still have a soft spot for his childhood club), just look at his face when the others are losing it after we beat them again.

Also, to criticise him for not being rabidly pro 'his club', precisely what many on here hate Carragher and Neville for, is hypocritical and plain odd.

Correct. Always find it odd that Carragher, Neville etc get critisized for being overly biased, which they are, but then Richards is criticized cos he isnt. Overall I think he fights our corner just in a more measured way.

Yeah, he's done some silly things, I did touch on that generally but we could all make a list if we wanted. But none of it is scandal-worthy, is it?
For me it’s hugely disappointing, he and SWP were two of my favourite players of that period and to see him behaving like he does whilst representing the club is unacceptable, what next a Liverpool shirt, the guys become a joke!
