He will be sold in the summer along with Milner, big English clearout.
Whats the big plan to make sure we are allowed to compete in the league and Europe then?????
It's a misconception that we wouldn't be allowed to compete. The way it works is that you can have a maximum of 17 non-homegrown players. If we only had say 4 homegrown players, it just means we are only allowed to name a 21-man squad, and so on. But of course, we need to sign several homegrown players this summer because Lescott, Richards and Barry don't have their futures here. Rodwell will stay because nobody will want him.

Agree with the above. Just been thinking about homegrown right backs, I've came up with a list of players who could do a job for us, be it at home to a team near the bottom or away at Stamford Bridge and will fit into our style.

Seamus Coleman
Glen Johnson
Kyle Walker
Nathanial Clyne
Callum Chambers

Coleman would cost a fortune so he's ruled out, same with Walker. Chambers hasn't had 30 starts yet so he's ruled out. So that leaves Clyne or Johnson, in the summer Johnson will have 1 year left on his contract so that will reduce his value. Perhaps offer Micah and 5 million pounds?

A lot of people saying he needs a run of games, but to be honest he's not going to get a run of games until he stops being awful every time he plays. To stay at City he needs to be much better at coming in for a game here or there and performing, Zabaleta won his place by doing exactly this a couple of years ago.

I think Micah needs a new start frankly, injuries have put his career in jeopardy and he needs to go somewhere where he can start every week and recover his abilities. Just can't see him getting that opportunity at City at this point.

I think a few on here are too quick to criticise. He's just coming back from a few injurys and will need time to get back to full fitness.
I'm not saying he would be first choice in front of Zaba but you wouldn't find a better full back as cover.
I also remember Zaba getting alot of critisism a few years back, now look at him.

Micah and 5 million for Johnson? Never! He's terrible and we don't nesecerally need an English or home grown right back . I think Bardsley is a very good right back though and could do a job for us

He has never done anything differently,.

Watching the game back on TV his amble back for their second was nothing short of disgraceful. To be honest I'm not sure he's up to the standards anymore, and I take no pleasure in that at all.

I think Chambers would be the one to go after to be honest, grant he's only just breaking through, but you have to consider that whoever is signed is probably going to be 2nd choice right back to Zaba, at least for a couple more years. Not sure a guy with England ambitions such as Johnson will accept that situation. With Chambers that would be OK because he's very young, he can develop his game in the meantime, playing 15/20 games a season until Zaba ages out.

With the amount of matches coming up Zabaleta can't play them all. If we stay in all competitions he would most likley play every 7 to 10 days as cover.

I love Micah's enthusiasm and as other posters have said he needs to improve his match fitness and stamina.

My biggest frustration is his predictability and lack of natural footballing intelligence. I think Zab and MP need to instruct him more (eg how to interplay with his wingers). He needs to bring more variety to his game and improve his positional awareness both in attack and defence.

I wouldn't write off his future at City yet, but he needs to improve asap. Hopefully he can prove doubters wrong?
