Micah Richards

His headed clearance in 2012 from a corner at St James Park in the dying stages of our penultimate game was pivotal. We were under the cosh but broke away and Ya Ya scored his second. The rest is history. Micah and Nedum were magnficent as teenagers in our youth team and, despite suffering crippling injuries, both had excellent top flight careers. He was a key part of our transition to greatness.

Bless him. He had a good run. Won a Premier League title, an FA Cup and a League Cup in his career. He's made his money, now he can sit on it and get into something else. Wish him all the best.

I think he’s another lad that has City running through him. I wish him well and I’m sure he will be seen at a game in the near future. We can then give him a cheer!
I don’t think Villa fans are keen on him as Micah only did what Danny Mills did to us.

That’s not true. By all accounts he trained every day, was a “bubbly” and helped lots of young players. Villa just didn’t want to play him.

“It’s the bubbliness that Brennan alludes to which is why current Villa manager Bruce is happy to have him around his squad despite the fact that he hasn’t played for so long.

Youngsters Andre Green, Corey Blackett-Taylor and Callum O’Hare have all made their first team breakthroughs over the course of Richards' time at the club and the experienced defender is understood to have been instrumental in their transition from the under-23 to first team dressing room.

Richards’ words of advice haven't gone unnoticed, and he remains a popular figure with the senior pros too.

He is often at the centre of dressing room banter. Social media accounts have shown him keeping fit with boxing training, and he has taken part in team-bonding sessions away from the training ground.” The Birmingham Mail.
Same article also says they turned down approaches from West Ham & Orlando City.

Mills on the other hand, wouldn't train, wouldn’t even turn up.

More fool City then for paying him if as you say he didn’t turn up. Unfortunately if Micah did train he wasn’t able to get up to the fitness level required to compete for a squad place. I can understand Villa fans frustration

He's got the right personality for media work. Should ask his mate Wii to get him a gig on BT Sport.

I never apportion any 'blame' to the players for having a handsome contract. It it goes sour then the people at the club who sanctioned a three, four or five year deal are culpable. We all know how five year deals can end up with some of the deadlegs we've had in the past, one in particular.

There is a potential one in the future in Mahrez unless he ups his game. 5 year deal. Pep is ruthless he won’t put him in the squad if he doesn’t perform
