Mate, he was given chances when he was fit. Are you forgetting that we were in 4 competitions until the final part of the season ?

When given the chance he wouldn't perform or he'd just pull his hamstring.

This club has done nothing but help the guy, but all he does is moan to the media about playing time. And now he's making veiled remarks about our club. I'm sick of him.

I have returned to edit , im tired and shot from the cuff, i take that comment back , im fucking sick of any thread what Micah is involved in becoming a platform for all the negative posters on here who obviously dont have much time for him.

This thread was about a shitty tweet , which has lead to all sorts of muck n bullets being thrown micah's way , i just think its a bit of a joke .

Well, why isn't anyone saying negative things about Aguero, Silva or Kompany ?

I repeat - this thread is full of Micah haters pal- dont feel bad about it,dont try to justify it to me , you have no need to, the truth is the truth.
Aguero has struggled to be fit all season too and he was out quite a bit last season also.
Aguero cost us £35 mill and is on top wack wages, Micah cost us fuck all and is on no where near as much money, if aguero has another injury hit season are you lot going to get on he's case aswell , no i didnt think so.
As i say Micah haters, as far as im concerned , there's no room for individual haters amongst our support.
If he's still here next season and he plays why dont you just boo him , i mean , you know you're just dying to !!
Im done and out of here.

Micah is a big conundrum for me:

We need a back up for Zab that we can rely on to stay fit, Right now Micah is not that player so bringing someone like Sagna in relatively cheap makes sense.

However, we all know how good Micah can be (he started ahead of Zab for most of the first tittle winning season) and he is still young at 25. He also has the major + of being a club trained player and should be an asset for the squad for another 5-6 years at least.

If I was in charge what I would be looking to do is give Micah a new deal until 2016 with a modest release clause (around 6-7 million) and agree with him that he will go out on loan next season to re-find his form and fitness. If he does that he comes back next summer and gets a new long term deal and is part of the plans moving forwards or else we assist him in finding a new club. The modest release clause gives him the confidence to know he can leave if he wants to next summer while we get another year to make up our mind on him.

Everybody is a winner!

He had the potential to become England's right back for many a year, but unfortunately for him we sold SWP to Chelsea. They were a joy to watch together and Micah rampaging forward was complemented by SWP covering for him. Unfortunately, this is the kind of player he needs to bring out the best in him. Milner is that kind of player, but without the speed of SWP. Unfortunately, Navas isn't the kind of player he can play with. When he has played this season, he has looked like a deer caught in the headlights in that he seems to want to bomb forward, but then he stops and thinks about whether he should go forward - usually looking toward the bench - and the move is lost. His work these days, when he does bomb forward seem to be doing a swan dive near or in the area, then jogging back while the defensive midfield/Kompany have to cover for him (unless Milner is playing). He fell out of favour with Mancini with his "we didn't know what we were doing" remark when he went for 3 at the back as we had done pre-season when Micah was injured, but could not adapt his game which was more down to injury and lack of time on the training pitch more than anything else, but still a stupid remark to make...

And to cap it all, as an England fan, if Johnson and Walker are the answer to the right back question, then that shows how far he has fallen as neither of them are fit to tie his laces if he really did get his act together...

Hate to be a dick but SWP had already left for Chelsea by the time Micah made his proper debit against Charlton midway through the following season....
Yeah...crap...could have sworn they played together before he left, but maybe my 60 years are catching up with me!! Still stands though that they were great together, and Micah plays better with Milner than Navas...

To compare the situation of Aguero and Richards is laughable. We have at least four forwards who we can rotate if one two or three are injured. We have two right backs (threeat a pinch if we use Jimmy there) and therefore we can't have a player is injured as often as Micah as there is no alternative than to keep playing Zabba. If Aguero is unfit then there are many ohters who can and who do step up to the plate. Every time Micah was given game time he either got injured or struggled through the game, Wigan in the FA Cup being a classic example. The truth is Micah has not progressed in the past two season whereas Zabba has. I am not a hater of Micah just a realist in where City as a club wants to be moving forward.

Let me get this right, he will sign a new deal, then go on loan in the 2014/2015 season, which means we have to sign a new right back (e.g. Sagna) .. so when Micah comes back for the 2015/2016 season, we will have three right backs ? Hmm..I don't think the club want to have three right backs who are all on big wages. Your plan won't work.

It was a several months ago when Micah was offered a new deal, he rejected the deal which prompted us to find a new right back. We are now close to signing Sagna which means that Micah will probably be sold to the highest bidder this summer.

As much as Micah seems a top bloke, and he's been at the club for many years, it's his actually ability as a footballer (and his ability to stay fit) that are causes for concern. The only reason many are considering keeping him around is due to his home grown nature, and the advantages that brings in squad makeup. It's not a good enough reason in my opinion. We need a quality, dependable, backup/challenger to Zabaleta at right back, Richards isn't that person I'm afraid. City have progressed and Micah hasn't managed to do so at the same pace, this means we've now reached a level, quality wise, that Micah hasn't, and is unlikely ever to do.

When you put it like that..... however,i'm sure Pete will be along shortly to add you to his list of 'haterz'

Sagna is 31, will be 32 by next summer. He isn't a long term solution and should only be getting a 2 year deal anyway. Most (if not all) of Micah's wages would be picked up by the club he is loaned to.

I think paying for 3 full backs for one season is a much better deal than letting Micah go for peanuts this summer when he is potentially a long term member of the squad if he can get back on track.

Can i go on it as well Pete? I don't hate Micah, I just don't think he's very good on the football pitch which is what he gets paid for

I'm sure you will tell me he's a cracking lad, but so am I, and it just so happens that im probably better with the ball at my feet :)
