Micah

I think we should give him a full pre-season, start him in every game and then see how it goes. If he gets crocked then that's it. If he plays averagely then he's still going to attract a buyer, if he plays well keep him. The rumours about Sagna are clearly gathering momentum though and Richard's days are numbered with the club. I think it's a shame but he hasn't kept himself in good enough shape to get fit and make an impact. Defensively he has been shambolic whenever he has played too.

Where does this shit keep coming from with regards a move to Liverpool? I have actually seen Brendan Rodgers laughing at this when it was put to him, and he does not believe he is the right player for them.

Rodgers is supposedly planning to clear out a few players, like Martin Kelly, who have had consistent injury problems. Can't see him buying Richards on that basis.

Right then I will have a go at what my scouting report might read :-

Against
Clumsy
Poor positional sense
Very slow mental reaction times
Poor distribution
Reckless
Injury prone
Very poor concentration levels
No stamina
Muscle bound
Unlucky

For

Lovely, infectious smile and a fuckin belting lad

I have to take issue with the muscle bound being a bad thing,he looks very nice with no shirt on;)

Cheers for the appraisal mate :)

What do you think of Micah?

Ha Ha

There was a time you could not pick between Micah and Zab and I was a big fan of rotating both sets of fullbacks tbh.

That was 3 seasons ago and the gap between the two of them now is poles apart.

Zabba , for me , is the best defensive fullback on the planet and I would not swop him for any other (Dani Alves is untouchable offensively).

Micah needs a change of scenery. Zab needs help and this season Micah has provided none whatsoever I'm afraid.

Pretty much, but I'd list pace and power as a "For", he can use brute strength to drive up the pitch... unfortunately when he has to use his brain again to know what to do next, he struggles.

For me, it's a heartfelt goodbye and hello to Bacary Sagna, giving us 2 of the best 3 or 4 right-backs in the Premier League.

I agree mate most of the 2011/12 season they were neck and neck. But thats where you separate the men from the boys, Zabba has stepped it up a gear, takes care of himself and clearly listens to what the nutrition/fitness guys are telling him

I think Micah is still stuck in the era of say 4 years ago where the crowd would get off their feet when he flys into a tackle or goes marauding down the wing taking the full back on with raw pace and strength and then putting his cross into Row Z

He hasn't adapted to the level were at, thats not to say he isn't good enough or hasn't got the ability, he just clearly hasn't listened to the advice of the coaches because in my opinion he hasn't improved as a footballer for 3 years, and tbh he has certainly gone backwards

It's a tough choice tho because he isn't going to the WC so is there a situation where they can get hold of him over the next couple of months and give him some one to one work and try and improve him in certain areas.

You want to give him another opportunity because of the lad that he is, and like ive said before if he was fit week in week out then he would get game time which would result in him being happy with his place in the squad

The thing is that would mean he has to stay fit, and a) i don't think he can do that b) i think Pellegrini has lost faith in him

I still think Micah is a quality player. He's been unlucky with injuries & in that Zabba has been untouchable, due to his form the last few seasons.

In the 1-6 at the Swamp Micah was unbelievably good. I'll always remember his header in the cup against Villa too. Maybe a move would kick start his playing career again as at the moment I can't see him shifting Zab at right back. I wouldn't mind if he stayed though.

People were slagging off Micah, "not good enough for where we want to be" etc. etc. prior to the 11/12 season (where he outperformed Zaba). He shut them up then and if he can remain fit he will shut them up again.

The only reason why our management should even be considering letting him go and replacing him with 31 year old Sagna is his fitness because given a run of games Micah is just as good as him, plus he's HG and is City through and through.

Which won't happen

Which is why our management of vast experience probably will let him go
