Michael Johnson arrested

What an arse. All the support he has had from the club, us the fans, at Leicester city more recently, chucked back in everyones face. I think whatever happens he is finished at city. shame .. but if you drive pissed - fuck you. Arrogant, selfish, uncaring - maybe even for himself ...but tough shit you are an adult deal with your demons dont risk them killing someone.

But Johnson could get banged up for drink driving....
No he wont.

for me it's stupid and a pet hate of mine, if you drive drunk you have intent to break the law and even if you don't mean to kill someone for me you were prepared to take the risk when setting off knowing you were in no fit state to so should get the top whack in manslaughter.

not this couple of years and out like Lee "The ****" Hughes.

Every sympathy for your view, but hand on heart tell me you've never been speeding?

Do you think a father whose son or daughter's just been killed will feel any different when he discovers you were doing 40 in a 30 zone?
We all do stupid things and manage (for the large part) to get away with it... but some aren't so lucky.

Drink driving is stupid. But so is speeding really, or using your mobile in the car etc etc.
VERY few of us are able to say we've never done similar.

I thought this country had the notion of innocent until proven guilty? Like most people I have no time for drinking and driving but I also have this, obviously outdated, notion of fair play and I think we should all wait until the due process has been exhausted before we condemn the lad.

Just MHO.

if you kill anyone via speeding or being drunk you deserve a serious jail term for it.

if you're in the speed limit and clean then no, it's just an accident.

You take the risk, you should pay for it at the end of the day.

and I don't drive, so I've never sped ;).

That's really a totally ridiculous argument, doing 40 in a 30 is not the same as driving drunk in any way. People doing 40 in a 30 zone don't usually kill sons or daughters. Drunk drivers do. Do you go around drunk driving and is that why you are so defensive about it? Sheesh.

Are you saying that people that drink and drive should be charged with manslaughter?

Sad state of affairs whatever the circumstances, MJ was a bright hope for us when let's be honest you only needed a good few games to become that as we craved a new hero and success, We don't have to crave it now as it's right in front of of us which can be even harder to except as it was easier to be less expectant, MJ had talent and promise as millions do but I don't get this concept that he had the world at his feet and fucked it up, A few good games didn't give him that, We did, and now it seems his opportunity and potential has gone but I don't get the need to slaughter the lad, IMO he hasn't thrown a career away as he didn't have one in the first place but he was a hope in desparte Place that craved a hero, Now we have a squad full of them.

Good luck to MJ in whatever the future holds and for one so young he's had horrific luck with injuries, How would you cope if this happen to you when others had convinced you that you were already the next best thing before you'd even done anything to justify it.

sorry, presumed it was self-explanatory, yeah if they cause a fatality, I'm not going to charge anyone just drunk driving with manslaughter, but I definitely think strict rules like suspension of license, hefty fine and any added charges that would occur if the incident took place outside a vehicle is the right way to do it, I just don't see why there should suddenly be a far lower level of responsibility, culpability and punishment because you're on a mode of transport.
