1.who would be daft enough to buy him?

2.why should he leave?

hes got a contract which pays him a regular wage

he would be daft to leave

He would be daft to leave but he gets no stick from taking money from us for no return, yet other players do and they get slated.
You seem like a really, really nice guy.

go 'support' another team.

Its because he's 'one of ours' that we should look after him, you git!

Its not the City way, and shouldn't be, to abandon youngsters we've groomed when they get a career threatening injury. Thats not the way of the club I support - so I suggest you do as advised and support a different team.
He's probably given everything he can to be a footballer and entertain us and take City forward - and now you just throw him away? Im too angry to bother writing any more on this.
i agree, don't some people just really piss you off

Is this jokers contract up yet or what? He has stole a living from us for too long now and I'm sick of the special treatment he gets just because he is one of our own. Complete and utter waste of a squad number.

It's always nice when a lad comes through the ranks and proves to be a gem which is what Jonno looked like however if it was anyone else other than a youth product that was injured for this long and preferred to go out on the piss every weekend then there would be uproar on here.

So please City terminate this guys contract and let him be someone elses problem.

What a bunch of cocks. To the last point also about him being one of our own he gets special treatment, in my eyes you are the shit fans who believe this. Treat any player who puts on the blue shirt with the same respect as the next. Jonno hasn't played in years and chose to go out getting bladdered as his rehab. Lets worship this god.

So what you're saying is that you should treat everyone who is injured with disdain?

Your opening post was to attack Johnson, when we should be supporting all our injured players. Not one player LIKES being injured, and all want to get back to playing the game that they, and we, all love, as soon as possible.

chose to go out getting bladdered

The same old statement, based on hearsay and OLD rumours. When did YOU last see the lad out on the piss? Come to mention it, no one at all has posted about his recreational habits for a long time.

Well I, in some way contribute to your wages, so as soon as you are ill or injured, expect your P45.

this actually happens more than you might think
employees are regularly dismissed whilst on long term sick if your illness / injury makes you unfit to continue your job and you don't get any redundancy etc just dismissed

so why not Johnson he would struggle to put up a convincing argument that he will ever be able to carry on his duties IE remain fit and play every week

But he was injured 'at work', so maybe he could get lawyers involved..........

Just because it happens in 'normal life' doesn't mean it's right. And also, if the physios didn't believe he would play again, surely they would suggest his contract be terminated, so maybe they think the lad had a chance.

Looking at the other young English centre mids about, only Wilshere comes close to him when it comes to passing, based on his pre-injury form.

He may have been injured at work but under the health and Safety regs he would have to prove his employer had been negligent and this negligence caused his loss IE his injury

I doubt very much this was the case so the club if it wished could pay Johnson off

I also do appreciate the club could loose a future transfer fee but that would have to be weighed against his potential cost to the club IE his salary and I would bet he would cost more to carry on paying him as his future transfer fee is likely to be very little given his history

But the club would have to pay up the rest of his contract anyway, as to buy him out, and the medical bill is neither here nor there, as city have the facilities to care for Johnson, his medical treatment cost would be peanuts compared to any fee we revived for him when fit.

Also, if any player wanted to sign for us, and they saw what some on here want to do, and 'discard' Johnson, I would think they wouldn't be overly impressed, as the injuries that have happened to him, could happen to any player.

At the end of the day, the lad has quality, the sort of quality you can't teach. Why some on here have it in for him, I just don't understand.

the whole point of this we wouldn't have to pay his contract up as he is in breach of his contract under medical grounds so whilst I agree it would be harsh to cut him off with no payment I think we should tell Johnson to take a lower figure to ensure the club don't pursue this track.

win win the club reduce wage bill and get a player off the books who is unlikely to ever make the grade now IE top four club and the player would be free to do whatever he wished even playing for a lower div club in the future

Great post this OP, totally agree

Sick of this piss head taking 30 gs a week of us

About time it stopped

I can tell you what happens. He plays few good matches and gets a new contract... then gets injured again for 1year. :<

Why is he in breach of his contract? He's not.

People seem to treat him like a benefits cheat. He doesn't want to be injured, and he is trying to get fit.

What would you rather be doing, playing football and training with the lads, or sitting on a bike in the gym, peddling for 3 hours on your own, because I know what I would like to do. No matter what people like to think, he's not just sat there taking his pay, he is in nearly every day trying to get back to full fitness.

Not only that, he is missing out on very exciting times at the club.
