I think the only players we have signed in recent years who you could argue that have been 'citys level' are haaland and maybe kdb but he was largely derided when he came to. The great thing about pep and city as a whole is that we sign players and make them citys level they dont come in that way

Yes the most important qualities are obviously talent, but then we scout the person and also the “intelligence” I think the only recent ones that have not matched all 3 are Cancelo and Phillips (I am sure we were hoping the Bielsa tactics would have helped him integrate here more easily). Under Pep the players have by and large improved, so this “not good” enough does not wash with me, they will become good enough. I also think that term is a little arrogant as well

Agree about Olise, but Eze, he’s a bit of a mystery for me, has all the talent in the world, silky as fuck, could watch him all day, just don’t know which way he would go with Pep.

Don't think kdb was derided by anyone other than media no nothings who wanted to slag City.

To be honest I think a few players have slipped in at a high level of play.
Laporte, Dias and Akanji amongst others.

Terrible argument. It's clear there are players at lower clubs who will be good enough or there wouldn't be a football system however does not mean players at all lower clubs can all make the step up/have the ability to play for us and as I've said olise isn't at our level with/without being improved by pep, luckily we're not interested

this makes no sense. Big difference in understanding a players profile and what they could bring to us vs signing just anyone, do you think a lot of our players were ‘our level’ prior to us?
