Michael Oliver to ref Liverpool v City - City lodge complaint

It was a blatant penalty but let’s move past that. Liverpool go straight down the pitch and score. Now, are they going to disallow a goal at Anfield whilst the locals and not so locals are going mental? Not a chance

Nail on head. They didn’t have the bollocks to hit their beloved dippers with a double whammy

Feared the worst when he was announced. He’s nowhere near strong-minded enough to ref the big games. Was never going to give us anything at Anfield.
We should ask for him to be stood down for any of our remaining games, there’s a pattern with him in charge of our games, spurs and today’s so far this season with him, never mind previous seasons ...

Just saw two very interesting things on Twitter:

1- IF i wasn't given because Bernardo handballed it first, play should have been brought back for a free-kick after VAR (because playing advantage it would have been a pen).

2- If it wasn't given because it was unintentional then their goal should have been disallowed for handball leading to a goal!

Stop the world I'm getting off.

I think ‘leading’ to a goal is a stretch, it was the other end of the pitch, City attempted and did clear it(poorly) and the goal was scored from 30 yards

I think it was a pen but given it was decided it wasn’t, you can’t disallow their goal.

Even if they could though, they wouldn’t. Can anyone seriously imagine them disallowing a goal at Anfield and giving the other team a penalty?

Excellent appointment by Riley.

You would be forgiven for thinking it was deliberate
