Michael Oliver to ref Liverpool v City - City lodge complaint

Unfortunately we haven't. Can you imagine bacon face on the end of those decisions and taking it ?

Unfortunately, I know. Even Pep backs up as soon as he leaves the pitch and keeps quiet in pressies.

We should just send them an email:

Dear Premier League,

if the shithole of organization you picked to select referees for Premier League matches ever, ever, ever again pick that half-pussy, half-man Michael Oliver to ref any of our matches on British shores, we won't turn up and TV rights holder can show the compilation of best Liverpool goals from 70s and 80s.

Sincerely yours,
Manchester City FC

I think ‘leading’ to a goal is a stretch, it was the other end of the pitch, City attempted and did clear it(poorly) and the goal was scored from 30 yards

I think it was a pen but given it was decided it wasn’t, you can’t disallow their goal.

Even if they could though, they wouldn’t. Can anyone seriously imagine them disallowing a goal at Anfield and giving the other team a penalty?

What do you mean it was a pen? I think everyone needs to take a step back and understand the rules. It's a handball if it strikes an attacking players arm in the box regardless whether it was unintentional. Even if VAR would have brought the play back, a penalty would 100% not have been given due to a change in the law. That's a fact.

Since the inception of the PL in 1992 have PIGMOL ever issued a half time statement of justification for 1st half refereeing decision?
If not, then that says it all.

I think Oliver was just a coward today. He didn't want the game to be decided by a refereeing decision, so he refused to make one even when one clearly needed to be made.

I think City should have had a penalty for the first Arnold handball. However to class his as an ‘attacking’ player in the build up to their goal and disallow it on the strength of that, seems a stretch. They would have to disallow the goal as he is classed as a striker but not give the goal as in their view it’s not enough for a defender to give away a penalty

City penalty. Ends the conversation but once that wasn’t going to happen you can hardly call the handball ‘build up’

This game has all ingredients to go up there with Riley's performance in that Rags vs Arsenal match.
