Michelle Mone

There are two posts on the first page. One refers to this person as a woman, the other, a man.
Not sure what you mean but it was a Married (I think) couple him and her.... or have I missed your point?

She is in the HoL and was in the Ministers' ears lobbying and then publicly lying about it and he owns and ran the Business, all the while they denied any involvement with the Company yet their trust funds will benefit to the tune of £60m nett... hmmmmm

"Fun fact. Michael Mone used to live in Alderley edge and his first wife still lives there".

"What crime has she committed? Bearing in mind corruption seems to be acceptable under this government".

My point was that these two points left me wondering whether the person in the thread title was a male or female.

Edit. I just realized that the first post says Michael and not Michelle ; )

That clears that up.

That was an appalling interview. It's always someone else who was at fault-now where do they get that attitude from?
They try to put themselves up as the victims, with her saying it all started when she was promoted to the HoL. Well, if it was so bad there was a bloody easy way to resolve that and get out of the limelight. But I suppose the £320 per day for being in the Lords and the ability to have a say in the laws of the country, that they probably ignore many of them anyway, was just too much to turn down for the good of her family.

But was the PPE defective or was it just not up to the job?
I would imagine there would be tender documents specifying the degree of protection required by the PPE being bid for.
If the PPE supplied met those requirements then it's not defective even though it's not good enough for the job. In this case whoever drew up the specifications should be questioned.
If Mone's company supplied PPE that didn't meet the required specification then all directors at that company should be behind bars.
It's also possible the government simply requested "PPE" without specifying the degree of protection required. If that's the case they'll just blame panic and the unprecedented situation.
Finally there's the £60 million. Would this amount be a typical profit margin for the contract entered into?

PPE Medpro is being sued by the UK government for £122m plus costs for "breach of contract and unjust enrichment".

I think it’s fair to say it fell short of expected and agreed standards. She also recommended Medpro through the VIP lane which isn’t cricket really.

Commercially making £60m off a £200m contract isn’t in itself excessive, margins run between 15-40% on these types of deals.

60m was just their cut wasn’t it? The company made over 100m profit from it.

Lives on the IOM, so shouldn't be involved in making decisions on UK laws.

Cheers that's the information I was looking for. I'm sure the Mones will deny any involvement with the company if a case proceeds.
