Middle East Conflict

You mean the populace, not the leaders?
I mean the populace and the leaders. But yes, their leaders are pro-west but that part is implicit.
From some diplomatic interactions many experts in my country get the conclution or impression.
"we can support them (Iran) but we don't know when they will change their minds"

And "anti-west" is not a good accurate word to describe today's world.
It's a concept from the cold-war era.
But the world has changed a lot.
I'm not sure which country is anti-west today. Maybe N korea?

One more interesting thing is, you know we also got some opinion leaders in China who pretent to have strong faith in democracy and freedom. But the motivation behind them is "privatization". The privatization of public services, like railways, schools and hopitals, gas, water, everything!
Interesting, isn't it?
It's always about money!

I just can't get past Israel not knowing about the Oct 7th attack - how could they have missed the Hamas preparations?

I have always been convinced they knew about it. They either have the best intelligence services, especially in the occupied territories, or they are incompetent. Both can't be true. Make your own minds up. They may have been surprised how "effective" it was but it played straight into Netanyahu's hands at a time when he desperately needed something, anything to survive. Anyone think he isn't cold enough to lose a few Israelis to save his skin?

I never thought I'd see the day where Iran are placing themselves as the bastions of peace.

Imho, Iran couldn't give a toss about the Palestinians or Israel for that matter. It is just using a conflict in the region to give the "the great Satan" a bloody nose. If its position against "the little Satan" bolsters its reputation in the region with ordinary Arabs, that is a plus. It's the US / Iran relationship that is at the heart of this, and the only place it can be solved.

This is a very convenient war for Netanyahu and his far right government. All they are interested is their own survival, subjugation of Palestinians and settler expansion and they have little interest in those poor hostages. Iran is forever interfering with its own and proxy's fellow hateful extremist interests.

The extremists on both sides aiming to destroy each other.

.Meanwhile many thousands are caught in the middle and are at best displaced. Many many thousands wounded, and murdered. Then there is the mental trauma. So many of them women and children.

1200 plus Israelis murdered
43000 plus Palestinians murdered
2000 plus Lebanese murdered

These numbers alone don't tell the horror of what has happened in this conflict.

This war saves Netanyahu from political ruin and prosecution. Meddling Iran comes off worse in this unequal struggle, their extremist friens severely weakened but not finished. Whichever side, an ideology cannot be killed. Killing and other acts of barbarism fuel extremism.

The only ever solution is political with constructive dialogue and a two state solution with a fair allocation of land for Palestine and Israel with respectfor each others right to exist - that means both sides comprising. Neither can have 100% of what they want.

This is a million miles away.

While extremists hold power with their own murderous agenda and actions, this is impossible.

Only a respectful, considered recognition of the other side can achieve this.

There was a good chance when the Rabin and Arafat were around. It can happen again but probably not in our lifetime sadly. Here's hoping for much much better.

I've been reading comments that they knew October 7th was coming but did nothing to stop it. Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest.

It's worth noting Netanyahu is a similar age to Putin; it's not coincidence their irredentist dreams are being put into fruition because they won't be long for hell.

Just because peace and resolution are a long way a way does not mean that we should not talk about this barbarism. There are some who seek to suppress discussion and cover up what is happening. Extremism, human rights abuses, racism, hatred, murder, genocide should always be called out.

Truly the comments were straight from the horses’ mouth (i.e. the women IDF low-rank officers who were stationed throughout the watchtowers). They had been complaining and submitting reports for months to their higher ups on the unusual activities near the borders, including the training of penetrating the barriers and use of weaponry. The women IDF officers were informing the IDF higher ranks on an almost daily basis for months before 7 October. The officers also submitted that it was so unusual on the 6 October, because that day was too quiet.

The IDF has the penchant of shooting and killing children and elderly they considered too near the border fence, but turned a blind eye on obviously foe militia on their tactical training and use of weapons close to the border fence.

Before the documentary, a primer short video of un-indoctrination

Next, the full feature documentary:

Eye-opening documentary including on first-hand perceptions from young American Jews who have stepped out of the box that they regard as indoctrination.

The younger generations, the more educated, are after all more inquisitive and pragmatic thinkers.
