But there’s very little, to zero evidence that they’re doing anything that will prevent similar from happening again in the future. At this point they’re simply bouncing rubble and killing thousands of innocent people every week.

No one can see what’s happening in Gaza and believe they’re surgical strikes aimed at taking out Hamas.

How many Hamas terrorists have they killed. How many rocket bases and how much Hamas infrastructure have they destroyed. I've not seen any details released? Out of interest do you know this?

If you look at the IDF updates, there is scant information on targets. Each day they mention 2 or 3 specific targets. Then the rest is just lumped together with the hundreds or other attacks. 6000 IDF bomb strikes in the first 6 days of attacks so likely there has been over 10000 to 12000 individual bomb and artillery strikes since the offensive against Hamas started.

Hamas only had 10000 to 15000 fighters. So by the IDFs reckoning that these are all precision intelligence driven strikes they must be close to wiping Hamas out already ??

No idea, I'm not of the opinion that Israel are just randomly bombing the crap out of Gaza for the fun of it and there is at least a method to what they are doing.

I doubt Palestine will release accurate figures either.

Part of the method is to destroy houses or blocks where the IDF could be ambushed during an invasion of Gaza. These properties could have civilians or terrorists in them (or be empty). It’s about risk management.

I can't see how Hamas can be wiped off the planet without wiping out two million Gazans too.

So what is Israel's plan?

Kill everyone - by either arms, starvation or thirst?
Keep killing until there are no live hostages left, then leave the territory to it's own devices, denuded of all resources?
Kill enough to occupy the territory, them stay as occupiers?

I've every sympathy with the plight of Israel faced with the appalling barbarity of Hamas, but I honestly don't understand what an acceptable endpoint to this could possibly be.

Fair enough, but can I ask what is your opinion based on? I expanded my response to you pls see above. It's looks as if these strikes are as you say all intelligence driven the IDF have nearly wiped out Hamas given the number of strikes.

True, but if I recall Isis weren't all holed up in a small city of 2.5million people. They were strung out across two countries with significant space between targets on many occasions. Ie much easier to identify and hit targets.
