Moutinho is a top class player, whenever I watch Sporting both Moutinho and Veloso look like excellent talents. A pro of getting in these Portuguese lads is that the Brazilians speak the same language so they would not be isolated from the squad.

In the Daily Mail article it also refers to defenders from the Dutch league and with the post a few days ago about Hughes returning from a flight from Amsterdam to meet up with the squad in Southampton, I would imagine that player is Thomas Vermaelen who is a left sided centre back who plays for Belgium and is highly rated.

Both quality players. Veloso would shore up our midfield and Moutinho would give us another attacking option to keep the pressure off of Ireland, Robinho and SWP to do the business every week. Together with the return (hopefully) of Johnson and Petrov our midfield would look very tasty!

I haven't seen much of Veloso, what's he like?

All I know is he's good on football manager ;-)

Veloso is an uncompromising defensive minded midfielder who does a lot of grunt work in front of the back four. I remember watching the Sporting Lisbon versus Inter Milan game a while back and Veloso dominated the midfield. He is left footed and likes to play it simple, him and Kompany could be the enforcers in the midfield leaving pretty much both wingers and maybe an Arshavin plus a big striker(Fabiano) to cause havoc.

He oozes class and in my eyes will be the best defensive midfielder in the World within 2 years.

Miguel Veloso would be a quality signing, and worth the £15-£20M it would cost.

Seen him a fair few times for Sporting in the league and Champions League.Has a wicked left foot and is an excellent set piece taker.

Please sign him Hughes.
