Mike Doyle tribute ?

I read something on facebook about uwe rosler when he was having chemotherapy and everyone singing at the Etihad. Is it correct?

One of my favourite moments involved mike, I was in the Stretford end around 1969 and city came out first before the kick off, all the rags were chanting mike Doyle's a basterd over and over mike ran up and waved both hands at them and pointed to his chest, then they sang Francis lee as got vd halilouya then franny looked down his shorts and shook his head, then they sang id walk a million miles to the end of your nose mike summerbee to which mike pointed to his nose, buzzer scored the winner with I think his head then during the game pointed to his nose at the Stretford end, to tell you the truth it was good banter which they took quite well? As for me being in enemy territory it was the only ticket I could get, I was spotted but got no problem!!!

Loved Mike Doyle, was the cornerstone of some great defences, with Dave Watson and Tommy Booth. I would have Mike in my all time city team.
I will sing my heart out for Mike in the fourth minute, and do his memory proud.

Not got time at the moment to read the whole thread but im in .
Not sure what we are singing for him though can anyone let me know ?? Cheers

Simply, "there's only one Mike Doyle" on the 4th minute, as he wore the number 4 shirt.

Cheers akcity, I'd also read

M-i
M-i-c
M-i-c-k
Mick Doyle

But nice1 that clears it up- theres only one mike Doyle it is then- roll on Sunday .

The kippax used to sing 'franny franny he'd walk a million miles to kick nobby stiles oh franny'

Before my time but read his autobiography and he really did bleed blue. Closest player to this man would have to be Zaba from the current crop

There was and always will be the one beast at City. A beast with blue blood. Our own Mick Doyle. Will be fantastic to remember him in the 4th minute.
