Mike Doyle tribute ?

Sod's law we get a scoring opportunity in the 4th minute......... Can we organise Yaya, Ferny, Nasri and Ko. to ping the ball around a bit in midfield so Mickey Doyle get his tribute heard good and proper.

Daniel Timperley, what a top guy…….Many thanks mate for this great idea to you and all the City fans.
My old man wouldn't of been that bothered that City did nothing when he died as he had lived the dream and played for the club he loved.
He would however be very grateful and proud to you the supporters for what you are trying to do on Sunday.
When we won the League Cup in 76 the first thing my Dad did was go and salute the City supporters ( sure he even jumped in the crowd )
The supporters are Man City.
Thanks again and enjoy Sunday………..You deserve it.

Being of a certain age, I was fortunate to see Mike Doyle play through a large part of his City career. Colin Bell was king of Maine Road, and Mike Doyle? Well he was the beating heart of the club, the fans representative on the pitch. We all knew that he, more than any other player, would give body and soul for the team and for the supporters, and we loved him for it. Just to make it even better, he hated United as much, if not more, than we did. Yes he was hard as nails, uncompromising we would call it, but he could play as well forming great partnerships with both George Heslop and a Tommy Booth. Without doubt his talent deserved higher recognition internationally than it got.
It will be an honour to join in his tribute on Sunday at Wembley, let's hope the team can honour his memory with a win.

Mike Doyle's finest moment was when he fronted up to the entire Stretford end and none of them would come anywhere near him. It's extremely hard to find that footage now but it's brilliant. Fans love to say that modern players 'bleed blue' and all that but it's a long time since a lifelong blue spent his entire career in the shirt.

I see that the K.O. is 2-00pm or 14.00hrs. Does the scoreboard at Wembley show the current time during a match.?
Never been to the New Wembley. So what I am asking is - in the 4th minute - will the scoreboard show 2-04pm or 14.04 hrs.
I thought Mike Doyle is/was an absolute legend. I was at 1976 League Cup final.
think there should be a minutes applause plus singing " There's only one Mike Doyle". on the 4th minute.
Yaya will have scored in the 4th minute just to make us all deliriously happy.

Whilst out with the Mrs today picked up a city related book and the page I opened it on was related to Mike Doyles dislike of the rags, it stated that in a seven year period Mike played against the rags 16 times losing just the once, he was the man.

Not sure if it's been reported before but City invited all of the 76 LC winning team to Wembley. Nice.
