Milner is going to be one of the very best midfielders in this country over the next four years.
Damning indictment of English football.
I have no objection to Milner joining City, i struggle to see where he will fit in.
I don't rate that highly, but he isn't a bad player. Not a creative midfielder by all means, but he is a work horse and is attacking by nature. I suppose i can see him doing the role i was hoping Barry would of provided for us. He isn't the best passer, by that i mean, he wont pick people out like Ireland can. He cam dribble, but as we saw in the world cup, he's no SWP. He resorted to a lot of deep crosses, struggling to get down the line. His crossing ability, Average! He doesn't possess the same intelligence or vision on pitch that both Gerrard and Lampard have shown from an early age.
But he is a hard working attacking player, will get forward with the ball, will shoot and will create some opportunities for the attacking players around him.
I personally would prefer us to continue to utilise Ireland (im not his biggest fan) But i feel he works better with creative players such as silva. M Johnson, is a fantastic talent, and we can only hope he regains full fitness, that allows him to play and gain form. What are getting out of milner, Is he for the centre or the flanks...As we seem to be well stocked in both regards.
