Milner is going to be one of the very best midfielders in this country over the next four years.

Damning indictment of English football.

I have no objection to Milner joining City, i struggle to see where he will fit in.
I don't rate that highly, but he isn't a bad player. Not a creative midfielder by all means, but he is a work horse and is attacking by nature. I suppose i can see him doing the role i was hoping Barry would of provided for us. He isn't the best passer, by that i mean, he wont pick people out like Ireland can. He cam dribble, but as we saw in the world cup, he's no SWP. He resorted to a lot of deep crosses, struggling to get down the line. His crossing ability, Average! He doesn't possess the same intelligence or vision on pitch that both Gerrard and Lampard have shown from an early age.

But he is a hard working attacking player, will get forward with the ball, will shoot and will create some opportunities for the attacking players around him.

I personally would prefer us to continue to utilise Ireland (im not his biggest fan) But i feel he works better with creative players such as silva. M Johnson, is a fantastic talent, and we can only hope he regains full fitness, that allows him to play and gain form. What are getting out of milner, Is he for the centre or the flanks...As we seem to be well stocked in both regards.

Milner has yet to establish himself in the Premier League though and he's already 24.

Yes thats why he'll be a good player nothing more. City can do alot better than Milner.[/quote]

He's been playing premier league football since he was 15 Hows that not
established,Over 8 years and he just keeps on getting better.

One good season at an average club and most people have Hart in their team, just cant believe that!

One good season does not make a good player until he consistently performs then I will keep my opinion on that he's a good player nothing more.

The players you mentioned.

Totti, Inzaghi and Trezeguet if you think they're overated then one has to question if you've watched them.

I've watched them throughout their careers, admittedly, more the off Sunday Channel Four game.

More so, in Champions League. I know you're a Juve man, but all three of those guys are average at best, certainly not worthy of reputation.

Just as David Beckham isn't.

Now Del Piero, a Baggio, a Bastistuta, a Signori...

These are guys who have my respect.

hart is a better all round keeper than given.

given is a shot stopper, thats it.

How does Totti who has been a magical player in his prime, still is now. He rejected all other clubs advances back in the day and stayed with Roma all his career I think Totti should get your respect mate.

But for the others you mentioned Del Piero, Baggio etc. Nice examples.

You get more goalkeeping practice at an average club as you call them

Hart commands his box far better, releases the ball far earlier by throwing the ball for counter attacking football than "hump it forward Given".

He is also an equally good shotstopper as Given, hes also 3 foot taller than Given.

Givens good but the future is Hart all day long.
