The boy does not set the price. Rio Ferdinand was not worth £19m when Leeds paid West Ham.

Manure and another £30m transfer later, proves you must pay top dollar for what can be perceived as a great talent in the making.

People are liars if they are saying Rooney was worth £30m at the age of 18.

He wasn't, but he's worth triple now.

My only point is, when we are at Stoke on a pissing Wednesday night, these are the type of quality additions that make the difference.

Milner has yet to establish himself in the Premier League though and he's already 24.

Yes thats why he'll be a good player nothing more. City can do alot better than Milner.
is that young player of the year James Milner who hasn't proved himself in the prem?? The same lad who has been playing in it for 7/8 seasons now? What a load of balls!

Was he not PFA Young Player of The Year last season.

In recent seasons, recipients have included Rooney and Fabregas.

He is at the right age to progress. He's a good player now...he could become a great one, if this is only for City, that'll do me fine.

I'm not too hung up on worldwide perception of what makes a supposed world class player.

I've formed an opinion long ago, that De Rossi, Totti, Trezequet, Izaghi.

Vastly Overrated. Yet gasps from the gallery.

It's all subjective.

A lot of good judges in football recon Milner will become one of the best players in England in the near future. I think he'll get in our team quite a lot if we sign him.

Away at spuds if we want a strong defensive midfield

Milner............Vierra..........Yaya.........Barry

Subs NDJ..AJ...SWP...Silva..Bellars

Can change from defence to attack by bringing on any of the above players..

Tolmie:-

One good season does not make a good player until he consistently performs then I will keep my opinion on that he's a good player nothing more.

The players you mentioned.

Totti, Inzaghi and Trezeguet if you think they're overated then one has to question if you've watched them.

I am a huge fan of de Jong but deffinatley need more width in that side, AJ needs to play this season as much as possible so I don't feel we need de Jong any yaya!

That's a team I would expect to see majority of home games

Only Given, who should be replaced by Hart anyway. :P

Nice lineup but the lack of Adam Johnson makes me cry, hopefully he isn't sat on the bench half the season after the breakthrough he had.

plenty of games to go round for everybody this season mate...
I think we will play narrow, Silva said that Mancini told him that he would be vital to our attack, therefore i can see us building the team around him, therefore playing him in his correct posistion not on the wing. But last year Mancini said that in the future he hopes A.Johnson can play behind the strikers, so it is possible the two will rotate.
