If we are to sell Milner we should ask for Joe Hart as part of the deal....

Friedel is looking old

god no
friedel looks like the alien in the bar in star wars who says to luke at the bar ..

'my friend doesn't like you, i don't like you either'

They'll be no swap deal imo, papers are always full of swap deals, but if you think, they are not that common, plus I think I heard somewhere, cant remember where but City dont like swap deals for some reason, take the recent Kolarov signing, Garrido could have just gone in that deal, but it was treated completely seperate.
Im not saying Villa wont get any of our players, but I think it'll all be seperate.
Im probably wrong of coarse.

Hart is adament of first team football so if Mancini does favour Given, then maybe we would negotiate a 1-year loan plan for Hart at Villa. But I'd prefer Joe to stay and be #1 if he replicates his form from Brum last season.

Garrido wasn't part of the original deal for AK47 probably because City won't want to party to Lazio fiddling the tax on a complicated deal. You can imagine Lazio showing Koralov out £19m Garrido in £29m !!!! I know that's an exageration but it does happen.

This is from a Villa forum.

Milner has in essence asked for the transfer to happen according to various quotes off MON

Last week:
"I had a conversation with James before the World Cup and he intimated that he'd like to go," said O'Neill.

O'Neill said that Milner's future will be resolved, one way or the other, soon. "City made an offer but it did not meet our valuation," he said. "I'm sure matters will be resolved soon. James is back next week having had extended holiday. I'd imagine things will be resolved in the foreseeable future."

This morning
The midfielder sat out Villa's friendly double-header in Portugal and, following a brief chat with chief executive Paul Faulkner, O'Neill confirmed there have been no developments.

"I only had a brief conversation with Paul today, and it was the briefest of briefs," O'Neill told Sky Sports News. "I don't think there's any more news to tell."

Regarding whether Milner would stay at Villa, O'Neill added: "I don't really know. I don't think at this stage I would be in a position to give you a definitive answer.

"Naturally I've said before that, almost everyone to a man, would want James to stay at the football club."

With everyone back in Manchester maybe we will sort this out today, we should do as Milner could fly back from Portugal, if we leave this late then I doubt Villa will play him against Valencia and that it will end up with his only potential game being Englands friendly.
