The words fickle and agent are interchangeable, i wouldn't be surprised at anything an agent says.

if true..his agent is a joke and needs to be sacked

What the hell is wrong with you people, whats the point of having money if you dont spend it, its not my money & i dont care what we pay. We all now were paying over the odds but remember one thing, with Platini`s rules coming into force soon we cannot wait,we are in an rush to get to the top & all the other clubs know it too. Stop apologising for being loaded ffs.
Its like winnning £10m on the lottery & just buying a new carpet for your house,STOP IT.

your giving other clubs money to spend though, if we are going to over pay would be better doing it with a foreign club
Thats one way to look at it, i prefer to say ...weve just taken thier best player & they are immediately weakened. What they do with the money is not my concern.

2 completely different players. Who would give us more in the formation we play? 1 Winner and thats Milner
Two completely different players indeed.

Ireland's younger, more mobile, has much more technical ability and should he reach his potential...
Will be at least twice the player Milner will ever be.

The only thing Milner's got on Ireland is that he's English and "always gives 100%".

Which is quite a bit to ask for at £28 million.

Milner is hardly ancient, Ireland has had heart problems and his fitness hasnt looked up to scratch this season, so I'm not sure what you mean by more mobile.
Despite al SI's weight training in Glossop he hasnt got anywhere near the physique, stature and "engine" of Milner

Barcelona outcast Yaya Toure's agent said the midfielder is close to moving to England - and Manchester City are favourites to land him.

Agent Dimitri Seluk said: "Yaya Toure will be a star in the Premier League and the deal is now close with Barcelona. Manchester City has the quality to be the the best club in the world."

Barcelona are eyeing up potential replacements for Toure with Tottenham's Wilson Palacios, Bordeaux's Alou Diarra, Toulouse's Etienne Capoue and Juventus' ex-Liverpool star Momo Sissoko on their hit-list for holding midfielders.

But you are also depriving one of your rivals of their best player (who their fans would probably rather keep)
Lets think positive here!

it would be our concern if they improved their team though, its a balancing act, you have to consider how much over the odds we should be willing to pay, im pretty sure if a club has a good scouting policy there must be better players available than james milner for less than that value

the lad's only 24, if we get 6 seasons out of him then it's only gonna cost us just short of 6mill a season.....and he has plenty of potential still and in the process further weakens a fairly stable villa side for the second season in a row. also the 28mill being flung about could be a final figure with add on clause and such like, i'm sure we know what we're doing and in my eyes a city team with milner in it is an improvement from last season.

Give Villa £28m to spend and I reckon it can only strengthen them.

Milner had a good season but he's not worth half that price.
oneill has already been moaning about his transfer funds and lerner has hardly splashed the cash the last few seasons has he.....great young hungry 110% effort every game player will do fer me. not too mention it matters fuck all what we think coz if we want him we'll get him. Villa aren't short of cash anyway so don't see how them losing one of their stand out players last season and then having to replace him will strengthen them really....just my opinion though.

Re: Milner on verge of joining City for £28 Million

Honestly, I wouldn't even pay £20m for Milner, let alone £28m.

Firstly youre assuming they must have a better scouting policy than us? er, why? Second, IF there were such players out there (proven internationals playing in a major league), do you think we'd get quoted the same price as Villa if we went in for them?
