Yeah the Daily Fail is hardly a reputable source.

To me this transfer (if it goes ahead) reminds me of the rags buying granny-shagger Shrek...

He was a promising youngster and they paid nearly £30mil, how many years ago and how many of the twats would say that was paying over the odds - and I genuinely think Milner could have just as big an impact for us in the coming years if he signs.
this
I agree with this also. Hope it happens !

Re: Milner on verge of joining City for £28 Million

after stevie irelands good season most rated him at around the 20-25 million. so whats the difference with milners valuation. he's had a good season, and has been improving every season and don't forget he broke into the leeds team at an early age and has played regularly for all the teams he's played for. ireland has had one good season and thats it in 3 years.

Re: Milner on verge of joining City for £28 Million

People saying he's shit, you can't compare him to Lampard, yer fucking embarrasing yourselves.

Lampard was a very promising decent midfielder for WHU, not by any means the finished article. Milner is a very promising decent midfielder for AV, one I might add that stand head and shoulders above the rest of his generation of England midfielders. Whats the difference?

I suspect there will be a lot of Humble pie being consumed in a years time if this story is true. Some fans us, if his name was Diego el Molinero most of you lot would be power wanking.

Why the hang up on players price, city no longer deal in a level valued transfer market, any player we purchase now is going to be overpriced, examples being rsc lescott and that is just the beginning we have to ignore the price we pay. Just look at the player we are getting
Is he better than a current member of the Squad if yes then we are better off.

Remember we milner is english and currently idolised by villa, they have to get best they can
The fee quoted by the Mail is on a par with what Chelsea & Utd have paid in the past for young english players. You have to break clubs will with big fees to get them to part with players they don't want to sell. remember SWP. Milner has been getting better with each passing season, and deserves his place in the England team. I don't know what some fans want. do we want success? If so, you have to pay for it, and there are very few midfielders in the english game I'd take above Milner. Essien, Fabregas and Lampard maybe but they are not possible & they'd cost a lot more. Milner for me is better than Gerrard at the moment, and has the ability to get to gerrard's former level.

Re: Milner on verge of joining City for £28 Million

I don't care about the fee to an extent, like someone has said young English talent costs and i've said before imo Milner will be the best English midfielder in the next 5 years

looks like were going to get yaya toure and milner, look what yaya's agent has said

"Yaya Toure will be a star in the Premier League and the deal is now close with Barcelona. Manchester City has the quality to be the the best club in the world".

yaya's agent comes across as a bit of a dick he said we were bankrupt the other day, although if i wanted a big pay rise i think i would employ him

In other news Sky Italia has said you've made a bid for Krasic.

I reckon he'd be a great signing, and we'd probably get him for considerably less than £28 million.
case in point Krasic ??? = great signing. He could be but I've gotta say I've never heard of him.

But Krasic = could be great signing
Milner = Overpriced/overated/rubbish/would add nothing/Irelands better blah blah blah.

I might sound like Milners agent at the moment but the guy is getting a right slagging and he hasnt even signed for us yet. Milner first missed tackle/misplaced pass/mis-hit shot, cue booooooooooo
