Milner will be even more keen to move now surely. The Villa fans will blame him for this no doubt. He wont play for them again.

The question is what happens to Ireland. Players sign for managers as much as clubs we all know that. I cant see how Ireland would agree to go there now its clear he doesnt want to leave manchester as it is....

There is more than enough room in our squad for the likes of Ireland and Bellamy providing we get rid of the players that have no future at the club - RSC, Robinho, Caicedo, probably JO, Ethutu etc etc etc.....

Bellers yes (at least I hope so)... Don't think there will be (or should be) a spot for Ireland though.

I actually think this may well delay the Milner deal. Will Ireland (or any other player for that matter) go to a club that hasn't got a manager in place? I doubt it....so we'll have to revert to straight cash deal.

The Villa ITK said they aren't getting Ireland and the deal for Milner was lower than the media reports, IIRC

An ITK I consider reliable on Villatalk has said the Ireland deal isn't dead - take what you want from that.

Link? Is this on a Villa forum?

Since most of the negiotations for this deal were between our chief executive Paul Faulkner and Lerner I can't see MON's resignation delaying the transfer.
Wouldn't it complicate the deal if Ireland was involved?
