Milner update.

villa have every right to ask for 30 mil city should give them a take it or leave i'd much rather we bid 15 mil for arteta a lot better player than milner at half the price or ozil 15 mil if you think about WTF are we playing at chasing milner when these 2 players are going for 15 mil?

Sorry but what makes you think that because you have bid we have to sell, the facts are that we do not need to sell and we dont want to sell so regardless of anything you think, you either match the valuation or move on.

no doubt you are just one of the many johnny come lately gang that has deflected from there previous glory hunting team to city.

but dont just think that because you have a lot of money that gives you the right to set the price, you got YaYa at barcelona's price because they wanted to get rid as he had lost his place to a youngster for the youth team, and silva you got cheaper than expected as valencia are almost bankrupt and couldnt really turn down the offer.

My own opinion is he's not worth 30 million but if thats what MoN and Randy are asking then that is there right, just like you have the right to set the price on any player that leaves city.

sorry mod's i have tried to stay clear of anything to do with this as to not cause any offense but when people post ridiculous things like that i have to response.

Have to agree I'm afraid. If they don't want to sell at the price we have offered then they don't have to. The arrogance some City fans have aquired over the last couple of years is upsetting.

WTF? Nobody is saying Villa can't ask for £30 mill. Of course they have every right. And City have every right to tell them to do one for taking the absolute piss and giving the City bashing media unjustified reason to say we'll eventually agree and call us idiots for doing so. That isn't arrogance, it's reality. Utter pisstake. Oi, Villans, bloody well grow up.

I agree, they're desperate to flog him and get their £30m, but we're a bit too smart for that. Wonder if they'll settle for £24m in the end? Clearly we're letting them stew on their problems for the time being.

True the longer they wait, the less time they have to buy a replacement.

Actually I am the opposite. I am just saying if they want to barter over 5 million pounds all their descent replacements could be sold. In other words its in their best interest to move this along, we can wait till the end of August. We have time on our side.

Plus O'Neill has already alienated the player by calling him out publicly. If Milner should stay, he might become a distraction.

We should wait him out. If they want to keep a player who is angry with his coach, by all means.

Milner is an honest player, and I fully expect him to have been honest with O'Neill from the off, which is why he has been very shrewd in how he has negotiated his stance as the weakened party to the media, for yet more bandwagoners to chastise us for our outrageous hounding of a player who is perfectly where he is.

The bottom line is that every player has their price unless they publicly commit their futures to a club, and if a team then has the means to meet that 'price' (although it may take negotiating 1st as the case here) they are perfectly entitled to make enquires.

The fact that these negotiations are public is down to Villa, not us. If they were kept private, as should be the etiquette in these situations then no one would have a problem if Milner suddenly signed for us tomorrow, as it would be viewed just as any other transfer.

The fact that it gets dragged through the dirt, a la Barry taints us in the eyes of the public, but this is all down to the selling club.

I was joking. Read the previous posts.
