Really do think that when we finally reveal our hand Gollum will be the one losing a player not MON.

Agreed.
A. He's not that good
B. Giving Martin oneill 25m is daft
C. I don't like us getting shafted, no matter how sodding rich we are

You have got to be joking. Paul Scholes is one of the most naturally talented footballers this country has ever produced and has been one of the best midfielder players in the world for donkeys years.
Milner is a bit of a clodhopper and has had one decent season. For all we know he'll be shite again next season.
Comparisons like yours are daft.

Depends on what you consider value for money. Arteta is a great player but has two years left on his deal.
Everton will want £20m plus, or players.
Milner is 24, progressing at a great rate, superb injury record...and English.
Can't see us leaving the lad hanging out to dry now.

What is O'Neill going to do with the money. If there's a better midfielder with the same qualities available for say £10m, why don't we buy them? Is it because they don't exist? Milner is worth about £18m, so including premiums for him being English, villa not wanting to sell and us being loaded, £25m is about as good as it will get
Parker will cost at least £15m, especially as west ham will know villa have the money. Ozil will want a top side if he moves this summer and is more of a silva than a milner, anyway.
As for a player exchange, I'd rather give them £25m in cash than say £18m and Ireland, as that's much more likely to bite us
