Milner wants out?

Will be a real shame to lose him! He's so versatile and has really stepped up to the plate this season when we've needed him. However I can understand why he wants to leave for first team football. At the end of the day he's won every as a squad player with us and fair dos if he wants to move to a team where he will be a 1st 11 starter. City any guarantee him that and so I wish him all the best.

Fucks us with this homegrown quota though that everyone is saying 'won't hurt us.'

They're not the best anyway BUT it does worry me how many English players we [will] have.

Hart's the only one who's going to be there next year!

Richards, Lescott, Rodwell, Milner, Barry, Sinclair, Wright - all set to leave. That's a hell of a lot of English players to leave in one go. Especially when Richards and Milner probably could stay and benefit us (providing Richards put the graft in).

It's not a major worry but it does concern me. I don't want us to have 5-6 of them starting every week (because they're not the best players in the world for a start), but it'd be a bit more comforting to keep Milner. Who could we reasonably get in this window to improve the squad and be homegrown and not spend above our limits?

Big summer. At risk of making the same mistakes as 2012.

OliverKayTimes: Interesting re Milner. Has asked #mcfc if they'll let him leave. #afc #lfc keen. #mcfc don't want to sell, esp with homegrown quota issue

Hes the last player we would want to leave mainly due to the english quota.

Re: James Milner

All the press rolling with the story at the same time, suggests Milner's side have leaked it.

Straight swap for Baines?
Clichy and Milner for Baines and Barkley might clinch it.

Why would Barkley leave Everton? All they would do is point to Rodwell and then point out he would be better off developing right where he is under a manager who clearly rates him and will play him. You think we would play Barkley on a regular basis?

According to Tony Gale on SSN, Jimmy will miss out on the World Cup due to a lack of games

I reckon he will be one of the first on Hodgsons list

Lack of games!! Somebody should tell him how many he has played this season

Exactly, where as Baines would get plenty of football here and is priced in a similar bracket.
