I would be very disappointed if he left. I'd rather he left on a Bosman in a year than for the £10 million quoted there. In any event he might feel differently in a year with a few more starts under his belt, which I reckon he'll get in all honesty.

In place of who? with Fernando arriving,i'd say he'll get even less.

I think Yaya, Nasri and possibly Silva will be used more sparingly in secondary domestic fixtures.

Fernando and Jovetic along with Lopes have to be factored for extra game time though.

He played in something like 31 of 38 prem games, starting 17 I think. That is playing plenty! I did get the feeling earlier on in the season that our English contingent were being phased out or felt like they were being phased out. I will be really pissed off if Milner leaves. That would just leave Joe Hart as an England squad member in our squad and there was even doubt on whether he'd remain at the club earlier in the season.

Better to lose Milner on a free than accept a measly £10m to strengthen a rival, IMO. If someone offers closer to £20m, then maybe.

The homegrown quota hasn't bothered me much as we don't use an awful lot of players anyway, so a 20-21 man squad + couple of U21s would be OK, but losing Milner hurts the depth of the squad.

My point remains about the Bosman/£10 million.

I agree which of this is accurate makes more sense for us to dig or heels in and meet him walk for free. I dunno maybe it's his agent putting pressure on city for a better deal or he really wants to leave. Either way not good for us.

It would be disappointing as we would lose a versatile player, but if there is an equally as good replacement being lined up then it is fine by me.

Fridays announcement will have driven our want away prices right down. Can't see any value in the market other than cash/swaps tbh.
