Missing woman Nicola Bulley - inquest (P 158)

His role was to search the river bed not the reeds and banks , that was the polices bits with divers and they all missed her, i have heard experts say that you can search one area one day and bodies are not there but might be the next time in a tidal river situation and it is often members of the public who spot bodies where they end up
Exactly this-it is commonplace for a member of the public to find a missing person who is deceased. It’s not an exact science especially in these circumstances.
Faulding is a curious one. Nicola was classed as high risk as soon as the missing person report was taken-it is inconceivable that he didn’t understand that and I struggle to see what difference it would’ve made to his search in the unlikely event he was oblivious to that. It seems now he was troubled by the reeds.
Nationally the police can learn how to better manage their communication with the media but it felt like an impossible task-criticised for not sharing and then criticised for sharing despite the consent of the family. Social media is still relatively new and it’s something that will form part of their learning. Like many others I would welcome an inquiry into the conduct of the MSM who were frankly despicable.
Hopefully Nicola’s family can eventually find some peace. It’s been a devastating time for them.

Do you think that's because he spoke to a ghost or because he simply walked aling the riverbank?

I have no idea as I said I'm just going by what was reported on how she was found. The report said he's a psychic and from Oldham, so I doubt he's a local just going for a walk along the riverbank. That means he travelled there specifically. Now he could have just been wandering along and got lucky and spotted the poor lady when hundreds of others couldn't. Or he could have used whatever psychic ability he claims to have, which drew him to the exact spot where he found her. What isn't in doubt is he did find her. So now it depends on what you actually believe, which at the end of the day matters not one jot, the same as what I believe.

Out of the hundreds of cranks from around the country that have been scouring the riverbank it’s not a great surprise that one of them found her. It could have been anyone finding her. Sadly it wasn’t the police or a local who wouldn’t have tried to make a delusional story about psychic powers.

Not often I’d call a thread to be deleted - but I think this should be one of them.
She has been found dead and it’s been a thoroughly depressing and shameful ordeal for her family - especially the social media/media side of it all.
Hope they can now get some form of closure.
Not entirely disagreeing, but won’t the closure come when they discover how she died, not just that her body has been found.
It is of course impossible to put yourself in their shoes, but in similar circumstances I think I’d probably want that before closure.

Of course it could have been pure chance. I wouldn't call anyone scouring the riverbank a crank personally they were trying to help find her. The man in question apparently was instrumental in finding another missing person.

I would call anyone travelling from miles away a crank, especially when they’ve been specifically asked to stay away.

I think he might take that secret to his grave and then we'll need another medium to ask him to find out whether or not they did.

Here are the facts. He's a psychic and was before this tragic case. Out of hundreds of professional and non professional searchers he was the one who found her. Whether by luck or some intuitive ability he possesses nobody knows. Personally I have no idea, but neither do you or the others quick to poo hoo the fact he might.
