The so called expert Peter Faulding has been made to look like a complete idiot. His team had even searched that stretch of river where Nicola was found. Didn't anybody think to search the reed bed?
His team's negligence have made this horrible saga drag on for her distraught family and friends, when they should have had some closure weeks ago.
RIP Nicola.

His role was to search the river bed not the reeds and banks , that was the polices bits with divers and they all missed her, i have heard experts say that you can search one area one day and bodies are not there but might be the next time in a tidal river situation and it is often members of the public who spot bodies where they end up

He also was on GMB , asked togo on and explain , scape goating him is ridiculous , he did his job of searching the water not the banks and under trees in the water , that was for the police divers

Sorry that was just his excuse. He categorically stated that she wasn't there and he never qualified his comment by specifically excluding certain parts of the river. He's made himself look a mug and he's been making it worse since by making excuses.

If he said he was searching the water and not the bank and brushes etc then i believe that, sona can only really do water and what is on the bottom and out to the sides of the bottom i believe ,the police divers and look outs messed up their jobs if anything

The trouble with these situations is that the divers, the police and anybody involved are gonna get criticised whatever the outcome. The meedya in this country love to set their sites on a scapegoat, and the longer it went on, despite the notion that 'their prayers and thoughts' etc, they would have been drooling like a Dobermann over a juicy steak.

He was categorical about her not being in the river. At the time he did not discriminate between the river bed and the reeds at the side of the river. He should never have guaranteed (his words) that she was not there. Now he's defending himself on every media outlet that will listen to him including fake news specialists GBN. He made a big mistake with his assurances and and should just shut up now.

I’m pretty sure he said if she’s in the water we will find her. Whatever happens he hasn’t come out of this with much credibility

His job was indeed to search the river bed. It wasn't his job to insert himself at the centre of the story in the way he did or publicly undermine the police investigation at every given opportunity, but he still did. The fact his job was to focus on the river bed didn't stop him theorising about the phone on the bench and speculating it might be a decoy. The fact it was his job to search the river bed didn't stop him from publicly whingeing that he hadn't been briefed about her private life.

The fact he offered his services free of charge seems to have made him think that he had a right to shamelessly self promote and give his two cents on other parts of the investigation. He might be differentiating between the reeds and the river bed now but he has clearly inferring publicly that he believed she hadn't gone into the river and fuelling conspiracy theories and amateur detectives.

At the end of the day, none of us should even know Peter Faulding's name. The fact that we do is testament to his own attention seeking and now he has to suck up the consequences. His twitter feed for the past few weeks has been tweets about his involvement with the search for Nicola interspersed with testimonies from satisfied customers and him plugging his new book.
