What if she was killed somewhere else and the dog/phone river was a red herring! Hate to say it but search the house or any building the partner has access too.

The partner went along with the river story because he is the one who made it look that way. Apart from aliens or a freak stranger abduction it’s the most common and likely story.

She was seen by a few people that knew her that morning , she was there , husband was at work but dont let facts get in the way of a good story

Yes in times of great stress such as a sudden death, murder or disappearance people tend to go on auto pilot until it's over. By over I mean a conclusion, either inquest, what's happened, trial. He's also looking after her two daughters so he has to retain positivity and be strong for them.

But this happened before where the partner seems innocent etc but turns out to be the culprit. Either directly or indirectly.

I think the Police will look through everything with a fine tooth comb. Relationship, finances, talk to other people. It's perfectly reasonable that he has nothing to do with it, but it's not impossible even indirectly (murder for hire or similar)

In most cases of murder i believe it's the spouse/partner/lover. It's the nature of people.

I know it's human nature I guess, everyone is an expert and wants to be the one who gets it right so they can say I told you so. This case is very baffling so draws more speculation. I'm not sure but I think they ruled her partner out very quickly as their property was covered by CCTV and could prove he hadn't left the property.

On humans mindset I was on a ship heading to Brazil many years ago now. We had an engine room storekeeper who was laid up with a bad knee as he'd had an accident. Now speculation was rife he was swinging the lead, in spite of limping around and looking in pain. People were saying they'd seen him bounding up stairs when he thought nobody was watching, then limping when he thought he was being watched. In the two weeks it took us to reach Brazil it was widely accepted little Davey was a skiving little shit.

On reaching Brazil he was taken by the agent to a hospital for a check up where it was discovered he had a broken kneecap and was flown home. A lot of people had to eat humble pie I can tell you.
