The team with the best overall record in the regular season is at home in MLS playoffs. Final would have been in Boston had New England beaten NYC. Trying to make the regular season matter as it does in normal leagues where there isn’t a playoff structure. And the best record wins the Supporters Shield or whatever.Travel must be an issue.

Venue is decided by which team finishes higher in the supports shield.
not sure the exact criteria. I guess the MLS isn’t at the stage where it could fill a neutral stadium.
