Mobile phones and driving

I’m on about both mate, im also on about your average bellend with a £600 iPhone on contract no doubt, take that off them and watch them cry, stuff maybe in the cloud but another £600 wouldn’t be readily available, they could say it’s lost or stolen but then that’s fraud in top.

Isn't losing the car a far bigger stick?

Replacement phone could set you back under 100.

Yeah, it would definitely work for a lot of your average folk. I'm just sceptical of laws that rich people can easily skirt... but I guess that includes most things these days.
Ye pal that’s a different matter the rich seem to get away with anything these days, even bloody Pep gets a parking ticket means fuck all to him, put points on that it’s a different matter but then he gets a ban and employs a driver !

Why are you so pedantic? Get their phone crush it, ban them from driving end off.

I wasn't being pedantic, it wasn't the specifics of £1 a week that I took issue with. Courts don't issue fines and timescale that people can't afford to pay.

If you have a change of circumstances you have to go through a bureaucratic process to get the payment plan changed.

It isn't the same as avoiding unsecured debts, payment can just be deducted at source from salary or benefits.

Mate I really don’t care, the issue was about stopping people using phones.

Would you advocate the same for drink driving?
One guy near us picked his 2 boys up from school, 6 & 8 year olds, he was pissed as fuck. The school was on a bendy road that went through bush. He left the road on a tight bend and smashed into a big tree. Both boys (unsecured in the back seat) died instantly but the driver lived, air bags saved him. My mate was first paramedic on the scene and it affected him badly.
Never found out drivers punishment but imagine living with that..
