Don’t think the complaint is having to forfeit home advantage. The problem is they have caused us to have to travel long distances twice. Actually further than Germany. We really struggled v West Ham after going to Budapest for the first leg
Beat me to it.

Always believed the away goals rule should be scrapped if a tie goes to extra time, as the away team has an extra 30 minutes to score a ‘double’ goal. But thats for another time and another thread and hopefully wont be of any relevance to our game

Don't think we can really complain too much, given they had to forfeit home advantage in the first leg too.
But there is no real home advantage at the moment given the lack of crowds.

There have been more away wins than home wins in the PL this season.

City have lost twice at home and once away so far.

Not sure why it couldn't have been played somewhere nearer, but presumably City gave their consent to it being in Budapest? I guess the club don't think it's too much of a problem.

Expected this.
Play Saturday night, flight Monday morning. Train. Play Tuesday night. Easily done.

I don't think there's much of a time difference between flying from Manchester to Dusseldorf and driving to Monchengladbach, vs Flying to Budapest.

It's a really good stadium with good practice facilities and transport links which is why so many ties are being played there.

I would think so. I would think we still have 2 away goal, and if they score, at the same stadium in the next leg, that will count as away goals.

They are still home and away fixtures from what i can see, just in a different location.

I don't begrudge it, as much as i feel peeved off about it. If roles were reversed, and it meant a crucial part of our season could be scunnered on return from travelling there due to national restrictions, i'd be expecting them to meet us half way and not insist on playing at home.
Oh stop being sensible and understanding.....no place for that on here :)

How kind of BT to put our game on the Saturday night as well to help us.
