Has sturridge actually signed for another club yet ?.

No but people on BM turned against him ages ago so he's as good as really. Shame in my eyes.

I dont understand the hatred myself either, because if the lad was deffinatly going couldn't he of signed a pre-contract or somthing with another club 5 months ago as his contract is up in June ?, or dosn't that rule apply to kids ?.

Not 100% sure of the ins and outs outside of Football Manger lol

Although judging by the shoddy treatment handed out to our player of the year it's a surprise Sturridge wasn't spat at when he asked for a new contract.

I dont think people "Hate" Sturridge, but I think there is a growing repulsion by the common fan with regards to the demands, arrogance and general moaning & manipulation of the press by the modern footballer.

In reality DS, should be in awe of his elevation to the 1st team squad & happy that he no longer has to clean Dunie's boots etc.....

As it is these boys seem more interested in being DJ's & demanding obscene amounts of cash.

For me DS & Micah certainly dont justify the huge salary's they beleive they command, nor do I think they are particulalry great role models for the younger element of our support.

I think that the average bloke who works his arse off to support his wife, family, keep a roof over their heads & worries like hell for his job doesnt have much symapthy that someone who has played less than 500 minutes of 1st team football doesnt get his £30k a week contract!

I agree with you to a certain extent but really, if fans can't get over the fact footballers now earn mental money then perhaps these fans should leave the game as opposed to just moan all the time.

A player who is widely recognised as the most talented player to ever come through the ranks of our illustrious academy.

I didn't think this was an Ireland thread.

Informed, and insightful posts welcome...

Childish, abusive tossers please refrain from posting.

This translates as "if you don't agree with me, you're a childish abusive tosser"

Err... I think you'll find I was referring to the posters (in the original thread) who decided to act upon unsubstantiated rumours on Danny, and then hurl tons of stinking bile in the young man's direction, in the form of (yes you guessed it) childish and abusive insults which made those particular posters appear as if they were a bunch of spoilt children. As that thread developed it was then quickly hijacked by a series of different posters determined to hurl insults at each other when they discovered that they didn't quite see eye to eye.

Ever so slightly childish isn't it?

My request (which was pretty clear) was that I didn't want to see this thread descend into the volley of endless insults and petty name calling in which the original Sturridge thread did.

Your presumptuous nature has come back to bite you on the arse I'm afraid.

So now that you stand corrected...

"Childish, abusive tossers please refrain from posting"

Please?

Sorry TMC, I dont think I made the point I wanted to really. The crux of it, is that some kid who has achieved nothing is demanding a contract that someone who has been a 1st team regular like Ireland for several seasons doesnt yet command (I saw figures this week saying he was on £26k). I think his deluded perception of his worth is what gets peoples goat!

That's if his demands that we read in the press are true.

I generally disbelieve 99% of what I read in the press, they have an agenda.

Young player of the season ?? As voted by who ?? The OSC. Certainly not by the majority

I'm sure nobody is fooled by a sham award voted by a tiny minority of our support.

I think young Daniel will discover tomorrow how popular our young player of the year is

But other than stuff in the papers, or on here do you actually know what he is on, or what he has asked for?
