More to the Sturridge riddle than meets the eye?

I can 100% confirm that Sturridge has already signed for another club. Can't tell you who he's signed to but it is going to be a very big surprise.

Liverpool perhaps... Fuck I hope its not the rags.

I wonder if he is going abroad as part of a swap deal for someone? If its going to be a surprise??

Doubt it, if he's out of contract. He can go where he wants & it will go to tribunral if City dont agree a fee.

Its an interesting one.

Those of you who were at the fans forum recently will recall Hughes being asked the question "Is Sturridge any closer to signing a new contract?" and the answer was a firm, blunt "No"...............no " he's not but he's a great talent and we'll do our upmost to keep him here", nor mention of ridiculous wage demands. It was quite clear coming away from the forum that Sturridge would not be a City player next season.

What is absolutely criminal here and it seems to be overlooked is that one of our best home grown talents is moving on, and Manchester City will be receiving no fee whatsoever . Why arent people up in arms about this?

You can't really blame Hughes for this one! Sven was the one who let Sturridge go into the last year of his contract. Once you're in the last year of your contract, agents will try and hold clubs to random as they know that they won't want the player to leave on a free transfer. I can imagine that his agent is asking for disproportionate wages for Sturridge.

Your presumptuous nature has come back to bite you on the arse I'm afraid.

So now that you stand corrected...

"Childish, abusive tossers please refrain from posting"

Please?

and the reason you couldn't have posted in the original thread, without starting another ?
Couldn't possibly be that your opinion is so much more important than others that it deserves it's own thread, so everyone can bask in your wonderfulness.

Please ?

Surely he wouldn't be allowed to sign for another English club while he is still under contract with us?

Why do we need to blame one, or the other manager.

Could be more to it, in the long run if someone doesn't want to sign a contract no manager can force them to.

What I will say is that Hughes criticising Sven earlier in the year for failing to come to terms with Sturridge is leaving himself open to exactly the same criticisms now.

Because the sheep have been told Sturridge is a naughty boy and choose to believe the words of the Mirror or The Sun over any real truth.

Some can't wait to boo him tomorrow. Small men I suppose.

Excuse me, but I am certainly not a Hughes lover, but cannot stand Sturridge or his parasitic family.

I certainly wouldn't say he is the best that has come out of our Academy. Far too early to judge him against full internationals or players with 250 appearances under their belts.

However, when you consider his injury record, his ego, his family, and his standing amongst the coaches at all levels at City, then no tears will be shed when he empties his locker

As I said in an earlier thread, its funny how Chelsea are supposedly in the running when they dont actually have a manager for next season.

Good luck and good riddance. Lets see if he appears on the parade lap on Sunday !
here here.bottom line is,hes overated anyway,ta ra daniel son.

The way some people talk about Sturridge as if he's "the next Maradona" baffles me.
Reminds me of the type of mass hysteria reserved for players like Micheda at the rags.

Sturridge is simply a good prospect-no more than that.Exactly as he's been for the last three seasons.
He's young.
He's struggles with injuries.
He's proved nothing that we didn't already know.
His "attitude" and body language on the pitch is often questionable.

He's absolutely nowhere near the finished article.

He could turn into a superb player. He might not.

If he wants to sign-great.If he doesn't-great.
It's no great loss.
There'll surely be others.
Unlike in the past, our immediate future as a football club or whether we stay up is not tied entirely to whether Sturridge has fallen out with Hughes, whether his family is involved, whether he wants 70 grand a week, whether he wants to play for the rags-I don't give a toss.

Does he want to play for City?Or does he want to go elsewhere?

It's up to him.

He's just not important enough to the team to warrant all this aggro.
