Morgan Gibbs-White

Rather see us paying 120M for Liveamento than MGW who gives us nothing for 70-100M. The club should be on the rails of Reijnders but knowing the board the obvious ones ain’t the ones we going for for whatever reason. If he wasn’t English there would be 0% interest. There‘s Camara out there from Monaco for a lower fee if Pep wants pace at the CM position.

A 10 who‘s not even the required standard switching from the 10 to the 8 position - plays in a counter attacking system and has low stats for 100M. We have a rat in the club

Strange post, seems more to dislike one of our homegrown blue blooded players in favour of someone who doesn't even support our club. Or is anywhere near as good as foden.

Foden was poty season before last. The whole squad has been poor. Foden certainly hasn't been the poorest. I don't see a need to get rid if you're saying that? I mean remove foden doesn't solve how shit we have been.
I've evidently been misunderstood (maybe my own fault) as I didn't want to make a statement on whether - all things being equal - we would prefer a team full of home-grown City fans in our team.

I would, as would the majority of Blues (I think).

My post was supposed to come from a more pragmatic, unbiased viewpoint, asking not only how long Foden can maintain (or be attracted to maintain) a place as a bit-part player IF (and its a big if, which is why I've used caps lock) we manage to land our primary midfield targets for a rebuild (I've used MGW & Wirtz as examples, but it could equally apply to other incoming players).

Also, I think that stage of career / what we were expecting this season-wise, there's a good argument to contradict your point and say that Foden (a player who, to be clear, I really like) has been our worst player this season.

Anyway, opinions, eh ?

My opinion is that you’ve posted a crock of shit. Opinions eh?

How many times have you watched Reijnders play out of interest? Or even Camara at Monaco?

MGW is quite simply being discredited because he plays for Forest and he’s not playing abroad with a funky surname. Have a look how Vitinha at PSG is getting on who was at Wolves…
Vitinha was what 21 on loan at Wolves? Did ok for a shite club, went back to Porto had a break out season winning both the league and Cup and then got his move to PSG.

Hardly the same scenario is it.

Engine, technical and desire.

Don't get why you wouldn't want him
Because he's not our level - or at least the level that we should be aiming for. He's not a game changer for us. He looks ok at Forest, who have had an excellent season, but that in large part to a purple patch by their striker and them being miserly at the back. He's also a massive **** on the pitch which we don't need.

You don't know that. All of us can spot the obvious stars like Haaland and Mbappe, but guys like MGW require actual knowledge of scouting to assess their ability level.

Secondly, we don't know what the larger plan is at the moment. Maybe MGW is the optimal complementary piece for our larger plan.

I don't "know" that. It's a forum. For opinions. My opinion is as valid as yours but lets not pretend that anyone fucking "knows". It's football. Scouts get it wrong ALL THE TIME. Darwin Nunez 87million say hi. And he's not our level. And thats a fucking fact :)

I dont see why not buy him if available and he wants to come. Its not my money. He will get the best coaching here. If he isnt up to it he wont play like Phillips or falls out of favour like Grealish he wont play. If he comes good he will play here and there. Not getting worked up about it
