Respectfully the numbers being shared in the media in relation to this potential signing are beyond ridiculous
I'll add my view is on the current asking price quoted.
As areplacement for.nunes and costimg anything below £35M then he is a consideration for the squad, anything above he isn't worth it
no ideaHow much did Forest pay for him
no idea
well if they paid 25 and this season has triggered the rising payments to £42 we would have to offer more.Just wondered seeing the fee you think city should pay and no more! It was £25m rising go £42.5m and looks like he has triggered majority of them!
Now personally I don't want him especially for that 100m mark but the fee Forest paid for him you wouldn't expect forest to sell for anything less that 70/80m seeing where they are in the league and there ambitious owner! For me 60m is a fair fee but bottom line the club will do what they will do and any new player I judge after a year or so!
Quick Google reveal this:How much did Forest pay for him
LolUpwards of £100m for another English player who has had a half decent season.
I do worry about where the club are going in the next year or so if this is what we are bunging most of our budget on.

but i don't think he is worth it.
Doesn't really matter if we sign hom for stupid money, what can we do about it, the club will do as it wants, if we have another season like this off the back of transfers like this then so be it.
Exactly why we find ourselves where we are this season.I hate his fucking face and he isn't a particularly good player.
Can we just get back to signing quality footballers instead of settling for the likes of this?
It's likes over the last couple of years the club has started to aim for lavish mediocrity.
We've always bought a mixture of players, some more squad players than others. There isn't a single reason to believe the people that have delivered trophies and records over the last 10 years are changing their approach.Exactly why we find ourselves where we are this season.
We used to sign Stellar players every window like Silva, Toure, Aguero, KDB, Gundo, Walker, Sterling, Bernado, Sane, Mahrez, Laporte etc...
Fully fledged internationals who were either the best in their position or was obvious they had the potential to reach the top.
Now apart from Haaland and possibly Josko and Marmoush, we are shopping in the bargain bin. Players like Doku and Sav MIGHT reach the heights of Sterling and Sane and Mahrez. But we've seen little evidence of that happening.
We've tried all sorts of players in the full back roles.
And re signing pensioners to an already ageing squad was just bizarre.
Reis was brought in but can't get a kick. Khush has shown some real grit and quality to the back line then finds himself on the bench.
Nunes is just a Portuguese Phillips. We've tried shoehorning him in at LF, RF and now RB. Another panic buy.
If we want to continue our dominance at the top our transfer strategy needs to improve.
They say football is cyclirical and it just might be our turn to sit in the shadows for a while until we sort the squad out.

You're quite right to mention Phillips. There were plenty of posters who were alarmed at him signing and subsequent performances. They were lambasted by quite a few other posters and in the end the doubters were proved correct. Luckily we get most signings right. FWIW I think Gibbs White is not too bad and that's about it.We've always bough a mixture of players, some more squad players than others. I for one trust the people that have delivered over those 10 years over any bluemonn experts to continue delivering.
I'll sit here waiting for all the yes but Phillips posts.
Plus hopefully a return to last seasons Foden.People do realise we have no choice but to sign English players this summer also right?
"MGW’s versatility, intensity and OOP game is the most obvious Bernardo replacement. In fact, he’s even more creative.
So the fact we have no choice but to sign English players, the fact he will essentially sit alongside Rodri and provide much needed energy and legs and the ability to never loose the ball, it’s a win for me.
His passing and creativity from deep is superb also. Him, Wirtz if we manage to do it, Nico, Rodri, O Reilly, Gundo and probably Kovacic leaves us with a lot of options and quality. There’s a lot of different quantities in that midfield and more than ample cover without Rodri too.
Plus hopefully a return to last seasons Foden.
But gibbs white doesn'tI think Foden in midfield is gone. We were briefed by Jack a couple weeks ago saying the club saw Foden and Wirtz as the two midfielders to pair, With Foden being more like David Silva.
But all of a sudden we are going for Gibbs White that would take Phil’s midfield position. Phils a winger now. His best season was playing midfield but arriving in the box to score goals, but that’s exactly what Gibbs white does, brings the ball forward but arrives in the box to score.
Maybe, but if it's to play with maybe Wirtz and Rodri, Nico comes into it too, both Nico 's for that matter. So then it's up to Foden and maybe MGW if we did buy him to compete for the 3 midfield places . Loads of options for rotation and competition there though.I think Foden in midfield is gone.
