Morgan Gibbs-White

Usually because they are unable to formulate a counter argument and their little sensitive hearts cant take any opposing views to theirs - especially if its along the lines that the club, manager, board, player could be making a mistake or not good enough (and just for clarification I think the manager and board are fucking fantastic and I wouldnt swap them for anyone else - ever - but that does not mean that they are not beyond reproach!)
Only taken us all day mate, but at last we agree on something haha

70 million for MGW. Called a solid piece of business.

He'll need to be putting in 10/10 performances from minute one to justify that outlay.
For £70m id do it. He does seem like the type of lad that would run through a brick wall for his team. Probably what we need right now more than anything

And what out of 10 would he get from you if we got him for £30m?

If we can get him for 30 million then yeah alright, he's a squad player for us in my opinion. If we do sign him I hope I'm wrong and he rips it up.

If we agree to pay 70-100 million, that's madness.

It was daft to pay £100 million for grealish. Daft to pay so much for nunes & Phillips. We cannot keep spending so much on players that bring so little value and sadly that's what I see in MGW when talking about 70 plus million.

But in the end we have no input into the decisions that are being made, so we just have to hope for the best and see how it all pans out.

Price doesn’t change the quality of a player. He’s either good enough or he isn’t, irrespective of what he costs

No but it is a waste of that money if it is spent badly and if that was to keep happen the regression would cost even more to correct.

For me we are starting to see signs of regression so it needs to be stopped now or we will have further to climb back to the top. Look at the rags - falling further behind as they wasted money on shit like Fellani, Maguire, Anthony and many many more.....they are now staring into the abyss and no matter how much money they are going to throw at it they are so far off and now no CL.....which then really increases the problem - we fail to qualify for that this season or in the coming seasons and the rot can start to set in very quickly....their decline started by buying poorly amongst other issues.

we don't need him

OReilly can do what he does in that position and proved he is ready for the prem and not scared to put in or take a tackle, put crosses in and get in the box and score.

City don't stifle our own lad who is showing more promise at 20 than gibbs-white did when he was constantly loaned to the championship.

IMO O'Reilly has looked better as an attacking FB than an inverted one. He seems effective running down the line but a bit limited when coming into midfield. Obviously a small sample but I very much doubt he's starting in MF for us any time soon.

For people who think this guy will be another Nunes, Grealish or Phillips, I think you’re wrong.

I think he will put some good numbers up for us?

We need a realistic price, some saying £30 million are way off.

If we get him for £70 million, we will have done well.

People will be presently surprised.

Mediocre when I saw him whilst at both Wolves and Forest.

He isn't a fullback or an inverted one.

He is a central attacking midfileder, who can also play on the wing if needed, much like foden and bernardo, though he was most effective sitting behind the striker and making runs into the box at U18 and EDS level.

His assists and goals have come.from him coming inside or to the edge of the box.

He is not a left back or wing back, much as Lewis, who was a good bight back at youth level isn't a midfileder, Play NOR in his best position and he will thrive and imho by the time he is at MGW present age will have suppassed him

All this was said about Phillips.

Does the fact no one else seems interested in MGW but 2 of biggest clubs in the world want Wirtz and indicator of anything?

Sometimes it’s about what clubs need - people don’t want to hear it but our midfield needs a decent number 8 and without it a number 10 would be pointless. We lack creativity but we also lack pace and power at the moment. MGW and Wirtz would have been ideal but it’s not happening and we will unlikely get a 10 now because there’s no one else out there who can replace KDB (if I’m honest I think Wirtz may have struggled to be what we want him to be - not that he’s not a good player). but we will build a decent midfield again that will dominate most teams next season. My other worry is we need more pace in the back 4, to deal with swift counter attacks.
