Yeah, he looked like he had great potential in the youth team but that was a fair few years ago now. He’s had plenty of games in the Championship and the Prem and I’ve seen little to no improvement. Potential is one thing, fulfilling it is something else entirely.Extremely arguable that he has more potential, Gibbs White had a significantly better time at Sheffield United on loan than McAtee and has since gone on to prove himself as one of the best attacking midfielders in the league.
McAtee has it all to prove, a good youth tournament, following a middling couple years on loan, and a year at City where he was regularly anonymous with the odd flash of promise?

McAtee should be given another couple of seasons before final judgement is made. Some players like Phil Foden bloom in their early 20's while others don't come fully of age until they reach 25 or 26. If he does improve it now seems likely it will be away from City.
Mate, this is why City insert buy back & sell on clauses. McAtee needs regular top level first team football.
