as an away fan and a blue scouse at that, moss side was indeed a dodgy place to go. but was it any different to a walk to any ground , not really. only time i felt uneasy was at the colin bell testimonial as all of manchester seemed to be out that night ;-) seven sisters was a long walk and you just kept your wits about you, no easy grounds to get to in the 70s and 80s really. moss side was like walton without the blacks, and if everton/ liverpool played in toxteth am sure it would be the same scenario.

Seven Sisters??????????
think he is on about the tube station;at spurs; a few incidents in the 70s;early 80s.

I gathered that, was just wondering if he meant to say Princess Road where the away coaches parked!!

never ever came to city by coach, always on the train to oxford road and a walk / run/ sprint to maine road. united was a worse ground to get to i thought, less routes and more chance of being ambushed on the crossing. city was okay as long as you was clued up and stuck together. always gave the robin hood a miss and knew not to go up the coaches as that was where you would be ambushed.

My gran lived on Lloyd st south and worked in the corner shop bernetts i think it was called. I remember my dad taking us to see her and us watching the fans going to the ground on a saturday and there began my blue adventure , there we`re some sights out of those windows . my dad was brought up around ther from 1942 so ive had many a tale told

BLUE ARMY
Happy new year.

My Uncle Brian was the steward at Moss Side legion (not sure it was in the 80s though). And his nephew was Mark Lillis.

Hi Mark ;)
