Most Humiliating Defeats

it was pissy and disappointing that the whole investment and paying these guys huge sums of money to perform on occasions exactly like that, only for the manager and then the team to completely bottle it.

But it's Monday and I've never really given a shit about the CL on a personal level and the season was a write-off long ago. It just leaves you more alienated more than anything but it's a first world problem. Not having seen people I care about for 5 months plus is something I'm far more concerned about these days.

If the team can't be arsed to do its job properly, then given the lofty and privileged position we occupy I'm not going to let it bother me too much that we don't win quarter-finals. It's a completely different mindset these days to when you watch back to 20 years ago and you bought in and you felt every win or loss and it felt like it mattered, Pep and the team this season have just pissed about and made it feel like it didn't matter. I know it's a come down after 2 brilliant seasons but I'm just going to enjoy the highs when we have them, and if we're having an "off year" fighting for top 4 and the like (such a hardship) it'll just be an "Oh well", at least that's a bad day now.

For the ultimate answer to this, we need to ask that poor chap who ripped his season ticket up on the pitch, that night against Bury. Was he more pissed off last night, then he was back then?

Did that happen, don't remember it

The story I heard was a bloke threw his season ticket away. It hit someone who contacted the club, got the other guys address and sent it to him in the post with a note saying something along the lines of, if I have to go so do you

That’s very fair comment, although tbf I was responding that the ‘worst result’ statement.

I'm convinced that if we'd have won and gone through, we wouldn't have won the league. Something would have had to give and all we needed to do was fail to win 1 PL match and we were second

I get thst, totally.

But equally that group of players, including Vinny, Dave and Serge, had a chance for true immortality and could very well have seized it.

It depends on your general disposition, I guess.

tbf, I‘m an inveterate risk-taker.
