No he scored on his debut v Colchester and then Oldham which was his 2nd game! LolTold you old man's memory, was Oldham away his first goal ?
91/92 season,we won at Coventry first game of season then the Liverpool game was midweek.A little of topic but can remember a fantastic Liverpool game which I think was our first home game of the season. Went into a two nil lead with David White getting a dubious second early in the second half. We dominated for the first hour, but in the last half hour we were battered as Liverpool threw the kitchen sink at us. They pulled a goal back and Dean Saunders missed a penalty. At the final whistle the ground went mad, one of the great Maine Rd nights. Can't remember what year it was think Peter Reid was manager, in those days any defeat of the dippers was rare and to be treasured.
Yes a great day Kidd got both goals,me my mate and his dad got seats behind goals at top.Not the best day and not quite Boxing Day either but certainly memorable. 27 December 1976 when we won 2-0 away at Leeds. My mate and I missed the first goal because every time we got through the queue to the actual turnstile it slammed shut in our faces because it was full.
Turnstile by turnstile we worked our way around the ground in increasing desperation until we saw an emergency door open where the police were "escorting" one or two fans out of the ground. In the melee we dived through the door and mingled into the crowd which turned out to be the home end. Just as Kiddo scored our second.
We lasted for about 10 minutes before being escorted out ourselves. Happy days.
Yep he scored in platt laneYeah throught it was the time of no cameras.
Was it at the platt lane end. Foggy memory of being in the main stand with dad about level with the pen spot, nearly in line with it.
we always used to go my nannas on boxing day and remember being totally buzzung about the result
This is the only time I have seen us win at Anfield in 40 plus visits! I was in the Kop with quite a few other (very quiet) blues. What I do remember is that most Liverpool fans jeered and laughed when Corrigan was felled but the media later made them out to be heroes for identifying the culprits. No one ever appeared in court...bit like the coach attack.Joe corrigen was hit by a bottle thrown from the kop and handed it to the referee the enquiry decided it didn't happen just like they didn't kill any Italian's or their own and didn't wreck a opposition team coach before a champions League game
