Most Memorable Boxing Day City Match

An old man's memory, thought Wrexham the Saturday before Christmas and Stoke boxing day, but realised I am mixed up. Andy Morrisons debut at Oldham around then as well, all in all a good Christmas that year.
I might be wrong about the date but that game definitely changed the club’s fortunes we went on a push from then ... and yes your correct about old mans memories ;)

Think the Stoke one takes some beating bar the shit result!

West Brom a few years ago was a good one too. 3-0 up at half time then it pissed it down with snow and i thought it would get called off it was that bad. Ended 3-2.

drive home was horrendous

City Newcastle 4-0. Bell returning from injury.

Probably bit subjective as it was also my first match watching City live, first time at Maine Road and the Kippax, and first time on your island.

An incredibly emotional day for me and many others when the great man appeared on the pitch at half-time.

Wigan away we lost 4-3. They tore us apart that day and we were losing 4-1 after going ahead from Sibierski.

Liverpool at home and I think Sterling (for them) had a goal incorrectly ruled out for offside and they would have gone 2 up but we beat them 2-1. Lovely

The Magician, as the announcer called him, scored on his debut with a header v Colchester long before boxing day, it was still light after the game. Was the first home win in ages it seemed.

1985. Beat Liverpool 1-0 at Maine Road against all the odds, thanks to Clive Wilson. My first ever City game.
Was gonna mention this. I was 11 and we got tonked by them yearly.

i always recall it as a clive the jive diving header but ive never seen footage since , searched and searched, to confirm this

Us older Blues will remember Boxing Day 1963 beating Scunthorpe 8-1.
In fact the full Xmas period was full of goals that season.
Did we not play them home and away Xmas day and Boxing day scoring a Six and an Eight. Derek Kevan and Jimmy Murray?
