I liked Michael Hughes, strange how he left and where he went to at the time.
If he hadn't been injured from March onwards we would have gone up as champions.Gordon Smith.
Blues could only think about "...and Smith must score..." v the rags in the last minute of the FA Cup, when he didn't score, so had a downer on him.
Yet he was very stylish and cultured and was top scorer from midfield in the 84 / 85 promotion season
Still remember the goal he scored for them at maine road :-/, least he didn’t celebratePaul Power, beat me to it.
Proved his worth at Everton
Gaudino was one of those players where his career didn't match the level of talent he possessed. I assume were it not for his troubles with the German police we wouldn't have seen him in a City shirt but he was a cut above much of the team at the time. Am speculating but I imagine with better choices and more application he could have been a much bigger player.I always thought Gaudino was a fantastic player ,played balls into space it was obvious to go into ,but our other players didn’t see!
James Milner ,very under rated
