MOTD time

it appears to be open season on city , pundits queuing up to have a pop at us , they have got to please their customers , and every time they are negative about us , rag, dipper, arse, chelski fans are loving it. Disappointing that BBC have sunk to this level , but predictable , we have got to be the most unpopular premier league champions in history , time to circle the wagons
^^^ this, I see the ya ya wants out story's are on tomorrow's back pages, no matter what they say we played well tonight.

did they mention the two england prospects that ovo were holding backing and stalling their england careers were both on the bench for sundeland ? no thought not

We were absolutely incredible from start to finish today. The best football I've seen us play for months.

Shearer's comments come as no surprise. I already had him down as the biggest idiot in football when he was raving on about two of the most over-rated pieces of shite that have ever kicked a ball: Mario Balotelli and Wayne Rooney. He's a fucking idiot and I am actually he glad that he said what he did tonight just to confirm my opinion of him.

Also, Carragher saying Yaya's finish was an 'ok goal'. It was fucking class, left foot, passed it into the only part of the goal he could.

Niall Quinn slagging off Dzeko as well, saying he was non-existent. Every player who wore the shirt today were outstanding, it was just the final ball/finish that was off for the first 80 minutes, but if we play as we did today, but with 3 in midfield, Chelsea won't get near us this year.

Don't agree.

We were sloppy far too often, simple passes going astray, the replays showed it clearly.

He said we played very well in the last ten minutes, and in the end three points were all that mattered.

Fair comments for once from him.

All (imo)

Hi Alan.

Take the blinkers off.

If it would have ended 0-0, most bluemooners would have been on here saying what a pile of shit.

Two fabulous goals from Yaya and Kun though.

I agree that most weeks they have an anti City agenda, but not tonight though.

But it didn't end 0 - 0. Did it Robbie ;-)

They could've filled a whole show with how brilliant silva was today but didn't show a single thing.

They could've showed how excellent Fernando was when he came on and changed the whole game.

They could've dwelled on kompanys excellent reading of the game and marshalling of the defence.

They could've discussed pellegrini's brilliant game management when villa had their 10 minute period and we were under the cosh in midfield.

They chose to show 5 or 6 bits of sloppiness you'd see in any game of football to 'prove' we 'didn't play well'.

It's not even funny anymore this now.

Shearer's analysis sums up British football to be honest.
They spend 5 mins telling us how hard Hurrenderson works and how much running he does, but totally ignore Silva's performance.
Could you imagine Spanish tv, saying "look how much he runs. Look how hard he works, he really is amazing."
Kids should be told that Silva is the player to model themselves on, not someone who just bloody runs a lot!

And to emphasise the point, Savage now talks about how many sprints the Leicester players made.

Looking at some other games today, we had the highest pass completion in the Premiership - 89%. We had the second highest pass completion in the top divisions of England, Spain, Italy, Germany and France. Only Bayern Munich bettered us, with 91% in a 4-0 home win. Barcelona trailed us on pass completion and passes. And we attempted the most passes of all the teams in Europe.

MOTD featured 6 of our 85 misplaced passes, and used this to justify the statement that we were poor. Despite attempting the most passes of all the top leagues in Europe, only two other Prem teams made fewer misplaced passes today - Hull and Villa. But they only had 81% and 77% pass completion respectively.

I know it is all statistics, but it is infuriating that we get so little credit for an away win against a team just a point behind us at the start of the day.

TBF Quinny said the way we played today was a warning to Chelsea and that we're back on track. Funny enough the only player I thought was off his game today was Dzeko. A bit unlucky with a couple of chances that came his way but his hold up play and ball control was frustrating to watch. For a big man he goes down easy far too often. We looked much better when he went off as it gave Sergio a little more room to make runs.

If we'd have called it a day after the QPR game and gone back to mid table obscurity, or worse. We'd be spoken about with fondness and a little respect. Because we've had the temerity to not go away and have actually built on that win and carried on pissing on every ones chips, the goodwill we gained for that Aguerooooooooooooo moment has faded into distant memory.
Shearer is probably still bitter about how sour it turned at Blackburn and his very own Bullseye moment every time he looks at the rags trophy cabinet.
