I thought they made it out as if Chelsea battered us which wasn't the case. They stretched us on the break a few times but Cech made two great saves and we also missed three or four good chances. This without our first choice midfield or main striker and a couple of players carrying injuries.
This wasn't some Jose masterplan as people are saying, the way we play most teams can get at us on the break and have, it is just Chelsea have better players than most.
Stats suggest we had massive possession and our finishing was off - But Chelsea were clinical, organised, they knew our weaknesses and exposed them, we were all over the place at times when Chelsea counter-attacked ....
Yes we were at times but this is the way we are set up,all out attck so leaving us open to such.So far we have mainly got away with it by outscoring the opposition but when we misfire and have a few injuries we are likely to come unstuck.
I can't argue with Pellegrini's tactics it has served us well so far and i have seen some of the best football i have ever seen at City but for some games he just has to alter it a bit and last night was one of those games.Barcelona will be another,i dread to think what will happen with Messi and co if we play that open!
