Mother of disabled Child told to pay for seasoncard

I phoned up on this issue and was told adult disabled can take child carer if need be. Child disabled cannot have free care Ticket as by law child needs an adult with them disabled or not. If its been covered before sorry.

He's currently 9 but at 12 he's still a child! As for what could or would happen.... We don't know, that's the point. If you're happy to let your 12 year old get a bus, tram to town on their own then so be it, nothing to do with me, but not a chance I would thats all I'm saying. There is a reason kids under 16 get snatched or attacked, they're easy targets & I just wouldn't feel comfy letting him go that young. It's different from when we were kids.
Yes, they are a huge amount safer than when you were that age.

If the child didn't have a heart problem I take it that at the age of 4 his mum would just let him go on his own?

This isn't the point, there are Adults out there who are 44 who have a carer who are now charged.... Who won't be going, replaced by some Korean JCL.

there is another issue in this specific case - I believe the dad is a ST holder, so maybe he could move his ST to sit with his son?

Bingo.

I don't like making Carers pay but what you said is common sense!

IMO their should be an area for people with disabilities and that area should be a set price factoring in both disabled fan and carer. Can't

Ungrateful to say the least.
The Mam couldn't wait to run to the papers with this 'story'. Did she contact the MEN when the club and players were treating her lad favourably?

A better headline would've been

Father Refuses to take Son to Footy.

Do you remember the knob that went running to the MEN when he had a broken leg and City "refused" him entry via the Players Tunnel ?? My how he got slaughterd on here and rightly so.
This lady possibly doesn`t understand that the age for getting into a match by yourself is 14 years of age, irrespective of your health.

I do oakie.
Always someone else's fault..

Thank fuck it's not just me then. I was thinking that maybe I was just a lone, heartless bastard who just didn't understand, so I wasn't going to post out of respect/fear/whatever you wanna call it.

But anyway... I'm with you two.

What shocked me was the amount who were disgusted by the club in the early pages.

Me too. Like I say, I was doubting my own compassion, haha.

And this is where I believe the Mother doesn`t fully understand the reasons behind the implementation.Perhaps its been an oversight from someone at the Club and its only just come to light.
You`d have thought that the MEN would have tried to speak to someone at the Club to get their side of the story before going into print, but thats media !!

Don't mean anything bad by it, but why shouldn't a carer have to pay?

I think the idea is that the presence of the carer enables the disabled person to have as near as possible the equivalent access to the stadium facilities as that of a lone able-bodied person.

I should point out that the carers who are admitted free do not get loyalty points in their own right, in effect their status as far as the club is concerned is no different to that of a wheelchair, an aid to the disabled spectator.
