neither can a 4 year old

No U-14 is allowed to attend on their own, disabled or otherwise. I think this is at the centre of the club's decision as it could be argued (I'm not saying the argument is right) that to allow a disabled U-14's parent in free discriminates against the parent of an able bodied U-14 who has to pay full price.

14 is a bit excessive isn't it. Why can't a 12 year old go to the match without his dad?

I got my first season ticket when I was 12 and went with my 9 year old brother.

I agree, I attended matches on my own when I was 11. I'm not sure when the rule was introduced, possibly following the conversion to all-seating at Maine Rd?

It was all seater when I got my first season ticket. We sat in the kippax.

Not a chance at 14, let alone 12 that I'd let my lad go to a match on his own! 16 yes, but not 12. It's a crazy world we live in & to be honest I was surprised to read that the club policy was so low.

Why what is going to happen to him?

I find it somewhat ironic that the very people who for years have campaigned for equal rights in employment, accessibility and in life in general still want to receive a perk that I and other fans have to pay for!
Would they give up their right to free parking too?

some would say that's the price of liberty

no comment from http://www.mcdsa.co.uk/ would have thought they might have a view on the change they generally have a good relationship with MCFC

maybe its just the fans and MEN winding each other up
The MEN emailed me asking for a comment whilst I was driving to the match so very last minute, the woman in the article spoke to me sat am and told me she personally had not spoken to the press, obviously a lie. All under 14's require adult supervision, under 5's get in for free, but why let the truth get in the way of a negative article hey...??

Right, in that case it was probably when we moved to the new stadium.

Ungrateful to say the least.
The Mam couldn't wait to run to the papers with this 'story'. Did she contact the MEN when the club and players were treating her lad favourably?

A better headline would've been

Father Refuses to take Son to Footy.

He's currently 9 but at 12 he's still a child! As for what could or would happen.... We don't know, that's the point. If you're happy to let your 12 year old get a bus, tram to town on their own then so be it, nothing to do with me, but not a chance I would thats all I'm saying. There is a reason kids under 16 get snatched or attacked, they're easy targets & I just wouldn't feel comfy letting him go that young. It's different from when we were kids.

Do you remember the knob that went running to the MEN when he had a broken leg and City "refused" him entry via the Players Tunnel ?? My how he got slaughterd on here and rightly so.
This lady possibly doesn`t understand that the age for getting into a match by yourself is 14 years of age, irrespective of your health.
